So much fun!
Both of my girls loved this storybook projector! The books included were ones they were already familiar with so that made it more fun for them. The projector works well and the quality of the images is great! Actually much better than I expected it to be. Also you can adjust the lens on the projector so the image is clearer. I only wish that there were more than 2 books included in the set. A good number would probably be 5 books for a starter set. I plan to eventually buy more books for the projector, maybe as a birthday or holiday present. They are a little more expensive than I expected, but still worth it. The only issue I had with the projector itself is that it doesn't work well if your phone is in a case. I have an Otterbox case on my phone and it just made it slightly too wide for the projector to work right. It works better if you remove your case.
Great gift, but books are expensive!
The Moonlite project is such a wonderful idea. When I introduced this to my kids at bedtime, they were fascinated. The room was dark, and everyone was lying down in bed watching and listening to the story. At times, the projector was covering up the first few words of the story so I had to move the projector, and then the image placement got messed up, and at times, I wasn't sure which way to turn the story, and it was hard fumbling around in the dark trying to straighten things out. But even with these hiccups - my kids were fascinated. The first story we read was "I love you forever" and this story always makes me ball my eyes out - so I can't even finish the story because I'm balling my eyes out - not sure this is the best story to read with the sad story line of mom getting old and the story has a lot of rocking sounds with sound a little like creepy Halloween. Anyway - kids still liked it, and the like the other story as well. I went to go online to buy more stories and they are 7.99 a piece, and the selection isn't the best. But I don't want to pay that much for a book, so I guess we will just stick with what we have until the price drops. Overall - it's really cool, but expensive, and still has a few bugs to work out to be flawless. I recommend this as a gift because you can get the books as gifts in the future when the mom and dad don't want to pay 7.99 a book - it can be a inexpensive gift to give a few books, and the kids love it.
Lights, phone, action
I loved this idea. My kids couldn't wait to see the story. The app was easy to download and indidnt experience any problems. I was able to follow the step by step instructions and I was up and running in minutes. I did have to remove the outer cover for a better image but, that was the only thing that slowed me down.
I loved the music and the additonal special sound effects throughout the story. That made the story more engaging. My kids sat still and listened to the end. They could wait for the next story and wondered what other stories were available. My oldest can read this to her brother which is a fun way to practice your reading.
What a fun way to keep the reading fun for children!
Wow
Loved the Moonlite starter pack I was very fascinated by it due to me not getting cool reading books but a projector is so much better it displays greatly and I’m forsure getting more stories for my kids especially after they fell in love with the very hungry caterpillar brought back memories
One Happy Grandma!
I was truly impressed with this projector. I love that you can make the picture really big. The true test though was my grandchildren. I have never seen them so still and quiet. At least not while they were awake. They ask to watch this every night at bedtime. The set up is super easy and I will definitely be buying more stories for it!

I received a complimentary Moonlite Storybook Projector for testing purposes. I was sent the starter pack that includes two story reels, Moonlite projector, quick start guide and activation card. Everything comes packaged in a book shaped storage case. The stories are recommended for ages 3 -7, which include, Love You Forever and We Share Everything. Both are written by Robert Munsch. The quick start guide is easy to follow and tells how to use the application code to retrieve the stories that follow along with the story reels. The projector is used in conjunction with an app that is available on the Apple App Store or Google Play. After downloading the app and setting up a Moonlite account, there is a step by step tutorial within the app. Both stories are now stored in the app upon applying the application code. The projector easily clips on to a phone and uses the phone flashlight for projection. There is a knob on the front that is turned to focus the projected picture. The story reels are inserted into the projector and there is an arrow telling which slide to start. The story on the app plays music while you read along out loud. It has certain parts within the story that are highlighted and when you click on them will play a sound. At the end of each page it tells you to turn to the next slide in the reel. I find the hardest part in using this is getting the projector on my phone just right. It does have a target to line up on the app but it doesn’t work just right with my phone. However, I do have a rather bulky phone case so perhaps this is the cause. I also find it hard to turn between pictures without moving the projector and having to put in some work to line it up again. It is really trial and error. My daughters really enjoy this product though and my four year old finds story time to be more fun. I recommend giving it a try.
Fun way to read
My Daughter's love this way to read their favorite books. Wait till night time and turn off the lights. And use your cell phone to watch and read fun books.
My kids love the Moonlight it makes reading more fun!
We absolutely loved using our Moonlight for our nightly bedtime story time. Both mom and dad downloaded the app so we could switch easily to read the boys their night time stories. The product is pretty easy to use, my only complaint was it's hard to fit on a phone with a phone case and it makes turning the dial difficult if it doesn't lay right on your phone. Other than that issue it's amazing the picture, music, and sound effects were great added touches we all enjoyed! I definitely recommend this to parents of smaller kids it definitely is a great concept that kids love!
Great alternative to movie night!
This is great for a blanket fort in the living room kinda night! Or tucked into bed works, too. My children love this unique toy, I especially love that "Love You Forever" was one of the included stories, really brought back memories. The app works great on my ZTE Blade Spark. Great quality and the picture is so big and bright! We have such a good time with Moonlite, I highly recommend it for parents and children of all ages!
Too cute!
This is such a cute projector! My monkey loved it. The packaging is great - even more so because it’s also used for storage for the projector & reels. The reels are thick enough to prevent most children from breaking them (we all know how kids can be 😄). I loved the projector itself - it was so lightweight and could be taken anywhere. That all being said, the price is decent (about $20), but the price of any additional reels (about $7.99 each) seems a bit steep. I realize that prices of new products will be a tad inflated, but I hope that over time, the price of the reels will decrease. Also, if your child uses an iPad, make sure it has flash otherwise the projector won’t work. We used my iPhone but she was disappointed that the projector wasn’t really compatible with her iPad. In addition to all of this (I know it’s a lot), the app could use some improvement. Here’s my thought: the app is free & that’s fabulous. What would be awesome is to have it almost like an audiobook. Rather than the music (or make it more faint), having it as an audio would work well! To me, THAT would make the $8 price on the reels well worth it.
