Fun family fun
This movie projector deal is a fun concept. I enjoyed the little stories, as did my son. I love the variety they have and think they are enjoyable. I did have issues with the app closing on me as well as the device itself being hard to hold onto my phone. Regardless of the few downsides, my son enjoyed getting to snuggle up and watch the stories.
Great for story time with kids
I love this. This is a great way to get my daughter settled in for bed time. The quality of the picture I feel like could be better. The cost isn't too much but again it comes down to the quality of what your seeing however it does the job, she loves it and I enjoy the time together
Toddler loves it, kind of a pain to switch
I thought the Moonlite starter pack I received was pretty cool. My 3 year old daughter really enjoyed looking at the pictures projected through my phone and the stories were great. I found switching to different pictures to be a bit of a pain and I accidentally knocked the projector out of place several times. I would accidentally switch to the wrong part of the story too often. I love the app that went with the story. The instructions were very easy to follow and the music was very calming.
Very funny
I'm loving reading the stories for my son. My son found it very funny. he is amused seeing the images on the ceiling. every night he turns the light off so I can connect to read to him. I thought it's priced okay. has an excellent quality. the variety of history also I liked.
It turned out okay
We were so excited to get our Moonlite Starter Pack that we received for free through Family Rated. It contained the Moonlite projector kit and 2 books to get started- The Hungry Caterpillar and 10 Little Ducks. The information in the pack guided us to the iphone app that needed to be installed to read the stories. The set-up was super simple and we were ready to start our first book. The words appear on the phone screen while the image is displayed on a wall or other surface. Music plays in the background and select words can be clicked for sound effect. The process of reading ended up being a bit of a hassle in my opinion. I had to read the screen, talking over the music, click the words if I wanted to activate the sound effects, swipe the screen to go to the next page, as well as turn the picture disc in the projector. It ended up being slightly overwhelming. Overall it was a fun device, just not something I want to use every night unfortunately.
What a great way to keep kids interested!
So, I have 4 kids all different ages and we got one of my favorite books to read them to try... The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I was interested in seeing how they reacted to the new way of "reading" it. I can say that the youngest who is only 1 would get so excited. That causes a problem though because when you go to change the picture it didn't want to stay in place all the time causing me to have to refocus the picture. When it comes to the older kids they loved the sound effects which I am not as good as this it seems that goes with the key words in the story. It's like a modern day view finder come to life. I would definitely recommend this for smaller ones as a way to get them to listen to you read stories to them and get them into a bedtime routine. Maybe a good baby shower or 1st birthday present. We actually just went to the Moonlight website and ordered 2 new stories for $7.99 each (about the cost of a hardback book at Walmart) of Goodnight Moon and Curious George. I am excited to see if they are just as excited for them!
Cute idea!
I can say that this is a unique idea and I love it! This comes with 2 story reels to get you started. Getting started with Moonlite is very simple, download the app and align the reel onto your smartphone. You do need to input the activation code to get the 2 free stories to show up. The one downfall I saw with this, you have to manually turn the reel and the clip does not seem to stay in place and you have to keep re-adjusting. Otherwise this is such a cool idea that the children just love.
Fun story time enhancer.
I received the Moonlite for free with the very hungry caterpillar and 10 little rubber ducks included. My son and I really enjoyed using this enhancer for the first couple days after receiving it in the mail. My son still likes holding the book and following along. So, I’m glad we have the very hungry caterpillar. Every time I put the projector on my phone he goes to get the book. We enjoy the projections on the wall and ceiling when reading the book and on the phone app. We also enjoy the added sound effects as well when clicking on key words in the story. We have gotten tired and bored of the two stories and want more. Therefore, I feel like the value is poor for this product since it would be very expensive to get multiple story projector reels to work with the Moonlite. It would be a nice baby shower gift though. So, I would recommend this as a gift for a friend or family member. Just feel like it would get expensive fast and difficult to store all the Moonlite reels. The projector clip also cracked my phone screen when clipping it to the top to use the flashlight and adjusting it.
Great concept for bedtime
I received this product free to test and review. I was excited because we do storytime at my house every night. It was easy to setup and understand. It worked no problem the only issue I had was from the device moving while I was switching slides and that it’s hard to keep your hand steady while reading and pushing buttons to move to the next page or make sounds. I think it would be awesome of it included some sort of stand and automatically switched slides. My kids thought it was a fun and we will definitely use again but it won’t ever replace the traditional way of reading a book in my house.
