Well it does work. Cleans up hard to remove smudges, grease, etc. But the one thing it really does is ruin the skin around the nails. Didn't like that at all!! i do recommend it, a lil'pricey but does seem to work.
I wasn't all that impressed with the Mr. Clean Magic eraser. It did not get rid of the rust in my bath tub, no matter how hard I scrubbed with it!
I got to try a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser as a sample a while back. I have mixed feelings about it. Firstly, while it does clean effectively, with little effort, I wonder what sorts of chemicals make it able to do so. Secondly, after cleaning some "rough" spots, I found it very hard for the eraser to go back to its natural state--it was yellowed and greasy. I've read about many different uses that this eraser can have, but I'm hesitant to try them. I will not be purchasing this out of my own pocket--I'll stick to green cleaning instead (baking soda, vinegar), or at the very least use products which are not chemical, and safer for the environment.
Now I know I'm not in the majority here, but I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about with these erasers! I have bought them for every move that I have ever done to remove scuff marks off the walls but for day to day cleaning it's not my favorite.
I dislike how it crumbles when you use it. It doesn't make it very practical for everyday chores. I also feel like it takes just as much elbow grease to use one of these as it takes to use my favorite powder cleaners. Not something I will be purchasing again.
We use the magic eraser for lots of different things around the house. Unfortunately it doesn't do a great job on the walls. It leave marks when trying to clean off white board markers on painted walls ans seems to discolor the paint when cleaning anything else (fingerprints, etc.) off the walls. We're still trying to find something that cleans the walls well (toddler in the house).
I found that when I used the magic eraser, it tended to leave streaks of grim/dirt on the surface that I was cleaning. While I did like the fact that i didn't have to scrub very hard, I believe that I shouldn't have to go back over the spot I just cleaned with another cloth/sponge to get rid of what the other product didn't. Probably will never use it again.
These are great but do not last long at all! If they would last to be able to completely clean the bathroom, it would be more cost effective!
I do like magic erasers when you first take them out of the box, after just a few minutes of scrubbing I find that they turn grey and start to break apart and then your on the the next one already. I do however like the effectiveness and convenience of not having to use a spray cleaner first then paper towel but I dont find that you get a lot of use out of them and are soon back to the store to purchase another box.
I thought that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would be long lasting, however after 1 use it was falling apart! I don't see how it is unique or special from any other sponge and can think of so many other types of sponges that do the job better and aren't ready to be thrown out after one use.
I tried the magic eraser to get rid of stains on my countertop, which it did but it also stripped the finish off and left small scratches! I tried it on a wall as well and the paint came off, so while i do agree that it ERASES, it also takes off what you dont want it to! I am a little worried about the chemicals in it as well, I wont buy it again!
