Lovely flavour, box could use improvement

These must be the most expensive Baklava I’ve ever eaten, at about $20 for a box of 4. I suppose you’ll have to decide for yourself if you’re willing to pay that much for some gourmet desserts. Don’t get me wrong, these Baklava are delicious and I absolutely enjoyed every single bite, but the price point is high. They are imported, so that is probably why.

Speaking of how good they tasted, each one of these Baklava was extremely crisp and had a great texture to bite into. The pistachio filling is moist and delicious, and it really compliments the crispy outer shell with a crunchy, sweet interior. If you’re not a fan of pistachios or honey, you’re going to have a a bad time here, but if you DO like both of those things you’re in for a real treat. I was a little worried when I saw some reviews mentioned that the Baklava were dry or didn’t have much flavour, but that definitely was not the case for me. Each and every one was tender, crispy and delicious, none of them seemed stale or dry at all. In terms of flavour and texture, these are easily a 10/10.

One other thing to mention is presentation. These Baklava come in a little box with a lid that you lift off. Once opened the box isn’t exactly air tight so I would eat one and then put them away for weeks before coming back for another, I think you definitely will need to eat the whole pack in a few days. The box design is plain and it does the job, but again it does not suit the price point and unlike the flavour it does not scream “gourmet” to me.
