Honestly, my life practically revolves around this app. I am a meticulous calorie counter (as in, weigh my food and log everything) when I'm trying to lose weight, and this app makes it so easy. The food database is huge, and it saves your recently used foods so they are easy to find. I have it synced to my FitBit, so my exercise calories are automatically accounted for, but you can easily enter those in separately (although the exercise database tends to give calorie burns on the high end, so sometimes it's best to only take 50-75% of what it gives). It also easily displays your macronutrient (carbs, fats, and proteins) totals, and you can adjust the micronutrients that are displayed if desired.
The community is also a great place to lurk, as there are hundreds of very knowledgeable and successful users there, who give great advice - the number one tip being, eat what you want within your calories, and you will lose weight! It's that simple. And MFP makes it that much easier.
my FAVOURITE app to track my food intake and workouts! It is so easy to track calories and marcos (fat protein carbs) on this app. The ONLY downfall is that it does not count net carbs (the only carbs that really count) so I have to do that math myself. Otherwise I LOVE it and it's free!
What a great tool for people needing to be more consious of what is going into their bodies and why they aren't losing weight! It's free and easy and pretty comprehensive for a free app. I need to get back on board!
This is an excellent app to calculate your macronutrients ( protein, carbs & fat) I use it everyday for the past year and I find it very useful!! You enter everything that you eat during the day and it calculates the amount of calories that you've reached. This is an excellent app if you're looking to loose weight or if you're training and would like to follow your macros!!
I downloaded this on my phone because I had heard a lot about it, I think that it has really great features like tracking how much you walk and how often you exercise. I really liked that you are able to find out how many calories are in the foods that I was eating. I use it every now and than but I see how someone could find this super useful.
I love this app! I've been using it on and off for over two years and every time I have the discipline to log in and track everything, I lose weight. It's amazing! It's very nice to follow my progress for this entire time and track my weight changes. For me, it works great. Love all the features available, as I can easily scan the code bar and get all the info I need. Also created any meal or recipe and have an overall idea of nutrition facts. I'm crazy over calorie intake info so this app is my BFF.
Until the last update to version 5.8, I would have given this app a very poor rating. I originally downloaded the app several years ago and loved it at the time, however over time it seemed the updates were causing something to happen. The app would freeze upon every action within it, sometimes going to a black screen and returning to the app, other times telling me the app was not responding.
That being said, this latest update has fixed all of the instabilities I was experiencing with the app and the improvements they have made (since I first signed up) are amazing! The diary is simple to use and has a great library of foods from most every brand out there. If you don't see what you're looking for, the scanning feature works great as well...I have never had an item not found using the upc scanner. syncing the app with my fitbit is one of my favourite features. The app tracks my steps and workouts throughout the day using by fitbit tracker, then adjusts the amount of calories I can have along with the exercise i've done.
There are many more great things about this app, but my favourite part is that i've lost 7lbs in 2 weeks.

For a app that is free this app is AMAZING. After I had my daughter, which caused me to gain alot of weight I was on the search for finding a way to track how much I ate and what I ate. And this is the app that I read about on most fitness blogs. As soon as you sign up it asks about your current weight and how much you wanna lose and it tells you how many calories you need to consume to lose the weight and it also lets you track what you eat and how many calories the food contains. But the app contains more than just weight loss management it has links to healthy living and exercise and tips and recipes all that good stuff. And with that said fitnesspal has helped me lose 10 pound within the first month of using it. So i can definitely say I love this app.
I think this is a great app for tracking foods. I find however, that alot of the foods I am eating are not in the database and it really looses it's appeal when I have to enter all of my food every single time. I also find the layout could be a little more straightforward. There are other apps that track the same but have a more user friendly interface.
