My first issue with this.. It wasn't heavy enough in my microwave.. So my microwave would reset itself and to fix that I would have to pull out and hold the heavy microwave while my mum/dad would reach back and unplug and plug back in the machine. Had to put a plate in the microwave than the wax on it.. It took 5 minutes longer to heat the wax properly [this is a new microwave that always works so.. ya].

The wax was very very messy and sticky compaired to the other waxes I've used [and i've also been to a salon and never had this issue].

The wax took most of the hair off.. .. and the top layer of my skin! Which was beet red [no joke, looked like a sunburn for 3 days and was very tender].

I've NEVER gone back to this product or waxing since. I'll stick to my intuition razor, thank you very much, I like my skin on my body.

This is a messy waste of time! First I heated it up and it was hot in the middle but still hard on the outside. I tried to stir it but the uneven heat made it difficult and it splashed. When it seemed heated throughout, it was so hot, I burned myself! After waiting for it to cool enough but not so much that it began to harden, it was impossible to apply in a smooth strip. It was too thin in areas and hardened in sticks of candle-like wax. Unless you get it thick enough but not too thick before it starts to harden but after it's cooled so you don't burn yourself, no hair will come off. It was a complete waste of money!

Nair Easy Microwave Wax Hair Remover - I've been using wax now for a number of years and have always been quite happy until I tried this, all I can say is that its fantastic, no sticky residue left on the skin afterwards and the hair completely gone in one attempt,. Really good in pulling the hairs, even short ones. Left my underarms less swollen (compared to using prewaxed strips) because I didn't have to repeatedly wax the same area to pull hairs out. It's awesome for the upper lip as well. i'm Pleasantly surprised with the effectiveness. Willing to deal with the messiness since it does the job well. I'll be sticking with this product from now on!

I bought this no strip wax for my first attempt at giving myself a bikini wax. It's really easy to use and it lasts a really long time. It also smells really nice. The only thing is that you have to buy after-waxing soothing oil seperately because they don't give you nearly enough. By far, this is better than any at home strip waxing product I have tried.

i tried the nair wax to remove hair off my legs and i will never try wax again. it was extremely painful and when the hair in my legs grew back it felt like stubble and some of my hairs became ingrown i would not recommend this product for anyone

I agree with the positive comments. This product works noticeably better than Sally Hansen, and if you buy it on Amazon it is a really fantastic deal.

DIY waxing is always messy and takes longer than I'd like. It's tough to get the temp just right and you will probably have to reheat once or twice during the process to keep it at the proper consistency. I always get that rash-like irritation after waxing or epilating - this is normal, and as long as it goes away after 24 hours you shouldn't be worried.

I'd sure prefer to run out to the salon every time I need grooming, but since I can't afford to, this is a decent alternative. I wish there was a larger supply of the wipes/azulene oil with the package, but you can find it sold separately or just use another good quality oil (I like the JR Watkins line in lavender or lemon) to clean off the remaining wax and soothe the area. Doesn't work quite as well, but it's better than nothing.

I have used this for over a year. If you are worried about burning yourself they give you a tester to tell you the temperature. If it is too running and running everywhere that means its still too hot. You just heat it up and then let it sit after for 5 mins and stir it every few mins or so. I find it works great and i will never go back to another wax strip.

I've used wax strips (Sally hansen wax strips) before which seem to work ok for underarm waxing, my only problem with it is that I have to repeatedly wax the same area until all the hair is pulled off. By this time my underarms are sore and swollen.
I decided to try this one because it seems like a good deal (big tub of wax) for $10 dollars at Target. I'm a bit skeptical since I've never used a wax without the strip. I followed the instructions, microwaved the full tub for 2 mins, tested a small amount on my leg first then onto my underarms. I'm pleasantly surprised that it took out a most of the hairs (even the short ones) and didn't require me to do to it on the same areas repeatedly. It seems less painful (compared to Sally hansen strips) when i pull out the wax and my underarms didn't feel too sore and swollen afterwards.
I agree with the other reviewers that it is messy but other microwaveable wax i've tried before are the same, can't be helped I guess. Also, the box didn't provide enough after waxing wipes (to soothe the skin).

I agree with Katarina, this product sucks!! I'm angry I wasted $15 on it and that they even sell it, does it actually work for anyone?? I've tried many brands and types of waxes in my life and never has a product not even pick up 1 hair. And the entire process of checking the temperature with this special stick and mixing it and being careful not to burn yourself is not very convenient, if it worked very well mind you it might be worth it, but it wasn't!

OK so this requires a lot of practice and mess tolerance. The moral of the story, before everything else is: if you do want to wax your face, do use strips. They're much easier to manage and control, and less messy.

Nair microwaveable wax heats up in your microwave, of course.. and you have to get it to a certain goopy consistency that's flexible enough but not hot enough to scald your skin. Prep time of a new jar was... about 20 minutes! Don't know if everyone has that kind of time on their hands.

And then make sure you have a plate underneath your plastic jar of Nair wax. Cuz wax comes out in STRINGS as soon as you stick in your stirring rod or spatula. And it's hard to disengage your strings (in time, cuz the wax hardens in air in about 20 seconds) so that you can actually apply the stuff to your face! So yeah I had a plate (and bathroom) full of thin wax strings!!! I should have taken a picture, sigh.

But results: the hair DID come off, eventually. My total chin/upper lip wax experience took about an hour of maneuvering! The wax had to be reheated in the microwave upstairs every 10 minutes or so. But yes, the basic procedure is: apply the wax in a small strip on the area when it's still fluid, and wait for a bit (10-15 seconds). It hardens. Then, taut your skin, and pull out close to the skin. And the hair will come off. Pick up the strays with tweezers later. You'll find that you'll have to wash evverything first before using tweezers, cuz your face will still be sticky. NOT recommended for sensitive skin!!! I did break out a bit right after the wax experience, but it settled down in about an hour for me.
