Smooth
I was selected to try the Nair Prep & Smooth Face Hair Remover Cream in Watermelon for an honest review. I previously had used Nair products a lot, but had stopped due to the small period of time before hair growth again. I was impressed with the ease of use, and the time to wait prior to washing. However, I did notice it did not remove the hair completely from all areas, and I given that you are not supposed to repeat usage, I did have to leave it the way it was. I would try it again to see if maybe it was a one-off, and if it would work better the next time. For this time though, while I loved the ease of use, I was a little disappointed in the effectiveness.
It’s nice but
I really liked the application of this product and how easy it is to use however I did not like the smell at all! It’s literally Nair chemical smell with a hint of watermelon. Thankfully it only needs to be on for 5 minutes or I don’t think I could have lasted. It worked I just can’t stand the scent.
Easy to Use
I have very sensitive skin on my face, and have had a hard time with hair removal creams in the past. I wasn’t sure how this one would go. I really like the applicator tip. It allows for an easy application with next to no mess. It smelled great. I used it on my upper lip and slightly onto my cheek (one stubborn spot). My skin was very smooth after and I felt that my tone was more even. It had no problem getting those finer hairs, including the “peach fuzz”.
Unfortunately, it did start to bother my skin. I was not able to have it on beyond the minimum time frame, which was not long enough to be effective on some of the coarser hairs. I still needed to go over with some tweezers after removal. My skin also felt very raw/sensitive in some parts for a day or two afterwards. Compared to other creams (not face specific) it was a much milder reaction than I have had previously.
This cream is a good way to quickly clean up some unwanted hairs, but may be best used in conjunction with other methods rather than a one-stop solution for those with sensitive skin.
Not for thicker hair
I was nervous to try this product as I have sensitive skin, but I was surprised to find how gentle this product was for me. There was a slight tingle after applying it but it was barely noticeable. I was left with zero redness or burning after use as well. The smell is very refreshing but not over the top. However, there was minimal hair removal. I have quite thick and stubborn hair, so I can see why it wouldn't work as well for me, but I think it would work well for others. I tested my upper lip at first for 5 minutes as the package states and maybe 30% of hair was removed. I tried another time for 10 minutes and about the same 30% of hair was removed. I should make note as well that doing it for 10 minutes didn't add any further tingling for me. I'm sad it didn't remove as much hair as I was hoping it would, but I do recommend it for people whose hair isn't thick, I'm sure it would work great. Definitely make sure to do a patch test prior to use to be safe!
Effective but not for sensitive gals!
I tried this out, I don’t have sensitive skin. I love the smell at first but after a bit all I could smell was the typical “nair” smell and not the watermelon scent. I left it on for about 7 minutes by accident instead of 5. It still didn’t remove the fine hairs around my lips so I had to apply again. Oh boy did that burn! I thought afterwards I should apply some skincare to protect my face. Burn baby burn. Big mistake. Perhaps it was just me and my skin. But my skin didn’t appreciate skin products after. It’s still quite red afterwards. No peach fuzz or facial hair, so definitely got the job done! But I’ll stick to my little razors
Not for coarse hairs
While this does a great job at removing peach fuzz, I will continue the search for a hair remover product that I don't have to follow up with a pair of tweezers.
This didn't cause my skin any irritation like many other hair removal creams tend to do, and I really loved the packaging and application process.
I definitely recommend trying this is you aren't comfortable with dermaplaning or other methods of removing peach fuzz, but this is not for darker and thicker hairs.
Applicator tip is too big for your face
The applicator ball seems like a great idea to avoid touching the cream during application, but the ball itself is too big to fit in the upper lip space. Great concept, but would definitely work much better around bikini area than on face. The cream works just as well if not better than all other Nair products I’ve tried over the years!! Pro tip: don’t throw out the box. “Directions for use” are not on the product label and there is no instruction pamphlet (great to see a company finally cutting these out and reducing their carbon footprint), so just be sure to keep this item stored in its box so you can refer to it before each use!
Alright product
I tested this product on my leg before trying it on my face. I’m glad I did this because my skin did not like the product. I was very itchy and red for a couple of days after. The product worked alright. It didn’t remove all the hair in the test patch. I wish I could’ve tested to product for what it was meant for.
it Works Well
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and gave notice it does an ok job removing peach fuzz facial hair, my hair ain’t sprouting as fast as it did before using this cream. The clean also hydrate my skin and doesn’t leave it dry after using it. My skin also feels nice and smooth, the best part is I don’t have any irritation to this cream.
Smells great, but not that effective
Gave this a try, was very skeptical. The smell was great, very summery and enjoyable scent, but did not take all my little facial hairs away.
I probably will continue to see my esthetician's!
