Matcha eyeshadow. Need I say more?
I've been really into bright pops of color lately. I wanted to keep my makeup collection small, so the NARS eyeshadow in Matcha is an amazing addition. I used my pc optimum points so the price didn't hurt me too much!
I am extremely impressed that the green actually shows up on my eyes (I'm looking at you, NYX ultimate rainbow palette). I can't get over the gorgeous tone of this shade. I love adding this on my inner corner or all over my lids. I don't know how NARS shadows work because some of them get discontinued but I highly recommend getting this while it's still available!
I absolutely love NARS eyeshadows, they are super pigmented and creamy and blend super well!
Lurv lurv LURV these eye shadows, although, as another reviewer said, they ARE too powdery. That's due to the talc in them. Like Stila, they like to use cheap fillers. HOWEVER.....holy mother of god.....one of these will last you a lifetime because it's so pigmented. They are CRAZY pigmented!
Yes, of course you have to use a base, just like all shadows, otherwise you are not going to get the staying power at all. Powders are powders, regardless f how pigmented they are, and will wear off if you don't prime properly. But you CAN use a cheap product to prime which isn't necessarily marketed as a primer, such as any tacky concealer, Cover Girl Shadow Sticks (or whatever they are called - the cream shadow sticks which came out the year before last I think and which I have in all shades available), any cheap cream shadow, a fat Rimmel glossy eye shadow stick, etc. They all work great. No need to go out and spend even more money on a so-called 'primer'.
Is this product worth it and would I buy it again? Even though they are somewhat pricey? Considering one will last me til I'm old and wrinkled, yes, yes and YES. They have some unusual, amazing colors which are difficult to find elsewhere and, even though they are powdery and can end up under your eyes, if you brush up on your makeup techniques - made a pun and didn't eve mean to GAG - you will get a lot out of these. Moreso than most other eye shadows. Personally, I'd go for the ones that contain 2 or 3 colors when available, which makes me believe I'm not wasting so much money :-)
Went out and got the shade Galapagos last night LOL I couldn't stop thinking of NARS after writing this review. OH MY GOD! Wet-my-pants-beautiful! Highly HIGHLY pigmented, stunningly beautiful deep color, have already used it dry over a plain base and as a wetliner. GORGEOUS! BEYOND GORGEOUS!
The eyeshadows from NARS is lovely. I am drawn to these eyeshadows by their colors. I own only a few and I tend to buy colors that are more unique that other brands don't offer. Their color range is great. They have a lot of colors with different sparkles that look amazing. They adhere nicely with a base, have great color payoff, stays on longer. If you don't want to splurge, I suggest you don't walk by the NARS counter... you won't be able to resist.
For me - eye shadow never seems to last long on my face! But NARS is my favorite. For me it lasts on all day and that is almost impossible, with most eyeshadows I feel like they wear off right away but NARS stays! There are many color selections and for a more dramatic look sometimes I apply it with a wet brush (I really love to do that!)
Well well....NARS is one of my favorite brands ..
Their shadows I have a bit of beef with ...They are way too POWDERY ! I always get a ton of fall out under my eyes. The colors are beautifull..the blendability depends on the color.
For some colors you NEED a primer or the powder will not stay and they need to be pressed on , not brushed on.. They crease on me because my skin is Oily and ALL shadows will crease on me unless i use a primer.
The colors are beautifull.
Love the single shadows from NARS. There are so many colours to choose from that it can be overwhelming but you'll be sure to find something you like. Shadows are highly pigmented and come in a variety of textures. Long-lasting and crease free too. I love layering these over cream shadows as well or wearing wet as a liner. They blend beautifully as well. They are a bit pricier than MAC's shadows but I love the slim compact it comes in - easier for stacking in a kit or your makeup bag. You still get a lot of product as well. I only own a few from the line but plan on collecting more!
