Best Christmas movie!!!
If you haven’t seen this movie, you need to. It is my favourite Christmas movie. Full of many laughs, Chevy Chase will keep you glued to the TV. I have actually had to buy a second copy of this DVD as we wore the first one out.
It's a tradition in my family to watch this every Christmas! I have seen this movie, no joke, probably over 100 times, and i still laugh my butt off every time i watch it. Chevy Chase is hilarious, everything about this movie is funny lol ! It will never ever get old !!
I watch this movie every year- sometimes 3 or 4 times. It is a Christmas classic in my household! The music, the humour, the chaos, the random family showing up, the Christmas disasters, and the family brought together. (and the non-holiday neighbours- they crack me up)--- it is all around good fun for the family!
Yaas! This is my #1 favourite Christmas movie. A child of the 80s this has been my fave since I was a kid. I love all the characters/family members. "What can I say? It's Christmas and we're all in misery.". It's so nostalgic for me... love the moose shaped egg nog glasses, brother-in-law bad wardrobe, and the epic lights display on the roof. I've watched this a hundred times and it never gets old.
Such a classic. I've been watching this film every Christmas for as long as I can remember, so very likely it's been over twenty years now. The whole family gathers around to watch it every year. I can still remember the old VHS tape we had! It got so worn out that we eventually had to upgrade to the DVD version, and now we have two backups in case anything happens (I'm not even joking!).
I'm not sure if this film really needs describing, because if you haven't seen it by now, chances are you've been living under a rock! The film came out the year I was born, in good old 1989. It's classic Chevy Chase at his best. It's not the first National Lampoon film, nor is it the last, but in my opinion it's the best.
You have Clark W. Griswold and his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), along with their kids Russ (Johnny Galecki) and Audrey (Juliette Lewis) (and by now, it's pretty much a running joke that their kids are never the same age, and never played by the same actors). They're going to be putting up their relatives for the holidays but, being the "perfectionist" that he is, Clark goes out of his way to try to make everything amazing, from the lights to the tree and so on. Of course, in true Griswold fashion, nothing works out and massive hilarity ensues.
This is one of those films that's filled with so many memorable lines that my family and I tend to quote it all yearround. "Bend over and I'll show ya!" "****er was full!" "Hey kids, look, a deer!" "Hallelujah, holy ****! Where's the Tylenol?" Just awesome. Can't wait to watch it again!
OMG I am super exited for my 20th or so year of watching this movie on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It is a family tradition and it was started by my Dad who is no longer with us, so we carry on this for him
Chevy Chase is HILARIOUS, he is such a nut, and so out to lunch, it is almost hard to watch, it's like I feel embarrassed for him !! Also, his wife played by Beverly D'Angelo, her brother played by Randy Quaid, the daughter Juliette Lewis.
I wont' describe the whole story, but here is what it is about:
As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. His hick cousin, Eddie (Randy Quaid), and his family show up unplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property. Even worse, Clark's employers renege on the holiday bonus he needs.
This is a MUST SEE !!!
