I had started taking Nature Bounty Turmeric to help with joint pain. I heard it on a health show that is to reduce inflammation in the body. I have a bad back and fibromyalgia. Its slowly has help me. I have heard of other brands too. Its really expensive thats the only bad thing about it but its good for my health...

I purchased this 45 capsule size bottle of Nature's Bounty Turmeric Curcumin + black pepper from Shoppers Drug Mart and have been taking one per day ever since. Each caplet is 1000mg which breaks down into 900mg of turmeric, 95mg of curcumin and 4.65mg of black pepper. Simply taking turmeric and curcumin is not enough, as I discovered through some internet researcher, as black pepper is necessary for your body to properly absorb the turmeric and curcumin. The life changing properties of turmeric and curcumin have been widely discussed online, and a few of my doctors had recommended it to me for different reasons. The bottle claims that the capsules will have anti-inflammatory effects to help relieve joint pain, as well as acting as a liver protectant. I recently found out that I have a slightly fatty liver, and I want to do what I can to protect it from progressing, which includes taking these capsules. Turmeric and curcumin are also supposed to have a positive effect on those with anxiety and depression. I can't say it is really helping me specifically with my anxiety and depression, but I do feel a bit better overall physically. Just as with fish oil pills, these capsules are very large and sometimes hard to swallow, but they have to be that size to contain 1000mg, so I just grin and bear it.
