Nestlé NOIR Mousse Delicate Milk Chocolate Reviews
#96 in Chocolate

Description

Celebrating a back to basics approach to chocolate, Nestlé Noir is like slipping into a favourite little black dress, it is something familiar and simplistic that evokes a sense of pleasure. This enjoyment can be directly related to the carefully selected exotic cocoa beans featured in the tablets from two different geographical origins – Ghana and Ecuador. More information here.

Im sorry I am posting this so late, I am not exactly late as it took quite a long time for me to receive my chocolates but I admit I should have posted my review sooner. I was very pleased with this chocolate.
I loved both the dark and the milk chocolate versions of Nestle NOIR mousse chocolates, but I think that the milk is my favourite. It is absolutely delicious. First impression of the chocolates give you a wonderful presentation. They are packaged in a beautiful box that is not overstated but when you open the box you are treated with a unique and classy display of these chocolates. The presentation of the chocolates makes them a great small gift idea because they are affordable but they come with top class presentation so they look like they are really expensive. Second comes the somewhat unique and somewhat truffle like texture of the chocolates. I was very pleased by the texture and the way they melted in my mouth and blended flavours so easily. Absolutely wonderful experience. And lastly- and most importantly- the taste of the chocolate! The taste of the NOIR mousse milk chocolate blew me away. I was not expecting such a decadent rich smooth gourmet taste from a box of nestle chocolate. I really love how the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate can blend together so easily and smoothly and taste just divine. The dark chocolate inside is not too bitter, it has just the right amount of sweetness to let it blend in perfectly with the milk chocolate coating. I would most certainly reccomend these to any chocolate fan, even those who are not dark chocolate lovers. They are amazing.

I had the oppotunity of trying these through the product review club. At first sight I thought the packaging was really nice! I love how it has a little flap for you to seal them up when you are not eating them.
The chocolate was so smooth and creamy! It also reminded me of a Lindor - but MUCH better!
I would recommend these to give as a gift as they are wonderful.

Although a little pricey the Nestles Noir Mousse Delicate Milk Chocolates are definitely worth the extra dollars spent. Biting into one of these little chocolate delights was a certain treat for me and I can't wait to pick some up again soon. Would make a nice gift as well!

I was lucky enough to try this through the product review club also and I was very impressed with the chocolate. I just received them in the mail the other day & I was very surprised!

First, the packaging was really nice! I liked how the package had a little tab to keep the box closed for later. It was a really good idea! It was also just nice packaging in general, I liked the gold foil.
When I tried the chocolate I was really surprised by the quality, I would compare it to my favorite chocolate Lindor, it was excellent!
I loved how the outershell was smooth milk chocolate and then inside it was like a heavy mousse feel. The heavyness of the chocolate made it last a lot longer in my mouth. YUM! :)

I also shared these with my family. They thought they were really great as well and we would all recommend these chocolates to someone who wants to have a very good quality chocolate that delivers the full taste and satisfaction. I would definitely buy these in store!

I also had the pleasure of trying these chocolates through Product Review Club (THANK YOU!). I was very impressed. The milk chocolate, although very sweet, was a delicious. I found that the pieces were the perfect size to get a taste of the chocolate and does of sure with out being too much. I like that I could have one piece and put the rest away for later. The mouse filling was smooth and creamy. It felt and tasted fantastic. I kept them in the fridge, so the outer shell had a wonderful, delicate crunch to it that gave way to the mouse inside. I would buy this product again... and again... and again. And then, a gym membership... because I will need it to count all those chocolates!

The only negative I have for the product is the packaging. Although it is unique and interesting presentation and I like the traditional box-of-chocolate presentation, I felt that there was a lot of waste for the amount of product. I've noticed that packaging in general has become excessive in a number of products. What happened to the days of reducing waste? These chocolates would taste just as good without all the paper and plastic surrounding them.

    Overall, wonderful chocolate!

First, a big thank you to Chick Advisor for including me in the Nestle Mousse Chocolate Review.

In an effort to get as much feedback as possible for my review, I enlisted two of my best male chums. I found it interesting that, as I dove into the chocolate, they were interested in the mechanism of the box (ah, how our brains do differ...). So, let's start with the box itself:

Package design: This is intriguing and unique as far as "drugstore" chocolate goes, and we all liked that it opens sideways. In particular, we liked the handsome black box for the dark chocolate, and we all agreed that this is the one we would give if we were buying to give as a gift.

Tab and Mechanics: This is the only place where we unanimously found a negative. The little gold tab was really hard to deal with. In fact, my manicured fingernails came in handy for digging it out. The boys resorted to using a knife to pry it up. Then, when it came time to seal the box closed (you're supposed to put the tab into a slot) the paper just wasn't strong or thick enough, and it crumpled up (not a good thing). The process was too finicky, and would try the patience of most people, including us. The saving grace was that, since we polished off the chocolates in one go, it wasn't necessary to re-seal the boxes, but in another case, we'd probably close the box with a piece of tape or by putting something heavy on top to keep the lid down.

Grammar: Not sure if anyone else noticed, but the writing on the inside of the box appears to use the semi-colon incorrectly. After the words See, Smell, Hear, Touch, Feel, it seems that there should be a full colon. Colon: used to separate an explanation from the preceding independent clause.

Presentation in box: It's lovely to discover that, inside, it's like a traditional box of chocolates, with a modern twist because the chocolates themselves are a unique and interesting shape. The box would be perfect to pass around the office as a little pick-me-up, with much more share-ability than, say, a chocolate bar.

    Okay, now about the chocolate...

Mousse Filling: bubbly, smooth, creamy texture. It's somewhere on the spectrum between chocolate icing and mousse and brownie.

Outer shell: Dark or milk, the contrast between the outer shell and inner mousse was really nice.

Texure: melts in your mouth!!!!! Wonderful texture.

Size: one bite or two, it's all good.

Milk chocolate: we all agreed that this version is verrrrry sweet, not for the faint of heart.

Dark: across the board, we loved this one!! You can really taste the cocoa; a more complex flavour.

Verdict: Hands-down, we love everything about the Dark Chocolate. The box is black and elegant; the gold writing is easy to read against the black background; the dark chocolate flavour is not too sweet. A winner. The milk, while really nice, has a sweetness that verges on cloying.

When Would Buy: In what context would we purchase this product? It would be the perfect anytime-treat to give to a friend who offered us a lift to work or to the co-worker who stayed late to help debug our computer.

Price: The price point is more than for a chocolate bar, yet totally affordable and perfect for an impulse buy when you want "better" than a bar. The elegance of the packaging and font-type is right up there with a nice box of chocolates yet the chocolate quality is more drugstore than boutique, which, when it comes to chocolate, is totally fine.

    Would We Purchase: Absolutely!!

This product is that perfect in-between when you want that extra-something, for yourself or for a friend. Definitely recommend it!!

While this chocolate was absolutely delicious I much prefer the dark chocolate version. The milk chocolate squares have milk chocolate on the outside and dark chocolate mousse on the inside. I think this combination is a good idea because it would be too sickly sweet if it was milk chocolate through and through. The chocolate shell is just delicate enough, and the mousse inside is divine. My liking the dark chocolate squares better is simply a matter of personal preference when it comes to chocolate. Both are equally delicious and I would definitely buy them again.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, the box is a little fiddly, but once you figure it out it does keep the chocolates sealed quite nicely. Also on the topic on packaging, I do not think it is excessive at all.
