I receieved this in the mail on Friday as part of the Product Review Club. I was going to wait for the perfect moment to try it, in the perfect setting (I take chocolate very seriously), but I didn't want to wait. So I tried it on Saturday.
I'm generally not a huge fan of milk chocolate, but this was pretty good. It wasn't as sweet as other milk chocolate I've had in the past, which I appreciated. The mousse inside was amazing. I like that it's a dark chocolate mousse as opposed to milk chocolate. It balances out the milk chocolate nicely and creates a nice mix of sweet and not as sweet.
The soft mousse combined with the hard outer shell is a good combination. I would definitely recommend it others try it.
The packaging is cute, but that flap thing you're supposed to close it with is kind of frustrating. I guess I pulled too hard trying to detach it because it tore off entirely. So now I'm just keeping the box closed with an elastic.
I received both the milk and dark but being a pretty huge fan of milk chocolates, i decided to taste and review it first and have to say i definitely Love the milk chocolate one!
the packaging was also really neat and "organized" as each piece of chocolate is settled and secured in its own "box", and it wasnt messy to eat either! the mousse is soft but not runny :)
The contrast between the soft mousse insides and hard-chocolate shell was a bit too contrasting for me though, but some others may like the feeling of two totally different textures combining. I just personally didnt like the texture contrast too much as i felt it was Too contrasting, but thats just me
Another downer is that there should be more chocolate in the package! I expected a bit more than 10 pieces, but then again, they're pretty big pieces so I guess it will satisfy most and that im just a bit of a pig when it comes to chocolate :P
Overall, it was a pretty great chocolate (besides the mousse, the taste isnt anything out-of-the-ordinary in terms of chocolates but if you haven't tried it yet, i insist you buy a box and try!) and I would def pick up a box again once i see it on the shelves. I also reccommend it for milk chocolate lovers b/c it was very satisfying : )
I received this along with the dark chocolate version for the product review. I have to say I ripped them open immediately and tried one of each. Initially I preferred the dark chocolate with dark chocolate mousse over the milk chocolate with dark chocolate mousse inside. I felt like the milk chocolate shell should have milk chocolate mousse inside.
The taste of the dark chocolate mousse is pretty good for a drugstore brand ( as opposed to high end like Godiva) and the suggested price $ 3.99 is definitely reasonable for the ten generous pieces of chocolate you get.
I brought them with me to work and they all disappeared very quickly! I also brought some marshmallows with me and ate them along with the chocolate - what a treat! They are also great with coffee as a morning indulgence!
The packaging is cute with little steps written on the inside lid of how to arouse your senses through eating this chocolate.
I would definitely recommend either the milk or dark version of this product if you're at the drugstore or grocery store and want something a bit more luxurious than a regular chocolate bar, or if you want something to share with a friend.
I would buy this product again. Yum!
I received this along with the Dark version for the product reviews. I post the same thing, with slight variations in both product reviews.
The first thing I will talk about the packaging. I really like parts of the packaging. It's not covered in a wrapper like an Aero bar. I find that packaging can be annoying to wrap back up if I don't eat all of it. The lid doesn't come completely off like a regular box of chocolates but is hinged at one side so it opens like a door. Except the door is flipped 90 degrees (I hope that made sense). Although I initially found the packaging interesting it then became annoying. There is a little tag you have to unseal from the lid and then insert into the bottom of the box to close it. I was unsure what to do and had to think a little bit. Even so, I did that incorrectly on the first box but managed to close it on the second box. Personally I found it a little annoying to figure out and it took more effort that I think it should take to close a box of chocolates. I'm probably not going to use those tags and set a book on it to ensure that it stays closed and nothing gets in it.
Next is the taste. I think it's about an average taste. I've had better chocolate but I've also had worse. I prefer dark chocolate in general, therefore I prefer the dark chocolate over the milk chocolate. For some reason I didn't like now the mousse and milk chocolate mixed in my mouth because it left a weird aftertaste. The mousse inside is nice - very soft.
For the price, I think it's decent. You get 10 pieces of chocolate and I don't think I could eat too many of the at once.
The main question that comes to mind is if I would buy it again? I would consider it but it's not my favourite chocolate. Unless I really wanted something with the mousse inside, for $3.99 I'd probably get something else. That's not to say it's bad, because it's not, I just personally prefer other chocolate over this one.
Nestle has developed a nifty new chocolate treat for us fanatics to revel in, called Nestle Noir Mousse Delicate. Wow. Even the name sounds delicious.
I was provided two flavours of the dru... I mean product to try out; Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. Both versions have a dark chocolate mousse inside.
The packaging was nice, though a little bit excessive I thought. I suppose it must be neccessary to protect the delicate little shells of chocolate inside--because that's what I found. Each package contains 10 individual "pillows" of soft dark chocolate mousse inside a hard shell of chocolate. According to the press release they're each worth about 55 calories, which ain't bad! Depending on what diet you follow you could safely have 2-3 as a small snack.
But who cares about diets. Give me chocolate!
The little chocolate treats were pretty good in terms of taste and texture. I was a little bit wary of the combination of mousse and hard chocolate, but Nestle has combined them well. The shell gave a satisfying crunch and the mousse was nice and smooth, not at all like the Aero bar-feeling I thought it would be.
The pillows melt at a good rate in your mouth; and while they look bite-sized they're just a tad too large to fit whole in your mouth! I recommend you take a few smaller bites and slowly savour the feeling and flavour for what it is.
I actually took these along with me on my trip to Las Vegas. I figured my friend and I would need a nice pick-me-up on all of our various plane rides. Boy, was I right!
We had the fortune of bringing some salted nuts with us... I love sweet and salty things so I took a bite of the Mousse Delicate and then popped a cashew in my mouth--Heaven! I really suggest trying out some salted nuts or any other type of sensation with these bad boys, it makes a good thing even better!
Overall I thought these were decent chocolates if you're looking for something from the drugstore or supermarket that's more luxurious than a plain old Mars bar. They can't really be compared to the high-end stuff like Rheo Thompson or Godiva, but they are definitely a nice, affordable (suggested retail price: $3.99) way to indulge from time to time!
I think I might buy them again in the future... I gotta say I really liked the dark chocolate mousse in the milk chocolate shell, it was just so creamy. The only negative I can think of is that they just disappear too quickly! Bah humbug!
