Pros: This product cleared up my acne in about 3 days.
Cons: It is super-drying. I have combination skin: greasy in the T-zone but dry on my cheeks). I used another, more expensive moisturizer on top of this system because my face was so dry that it stung. Also, it bleached my pillow case (very strange, yes, but I've seen this happen before with benzoyl peroxide products).
So, I have to give the product a good review because it does what it claims: it clears up my acne. But I can't bring myself to give it a perfect review because of how uncomfortable it made my skin.
This has been great for me. I don't have many pimples, it just seems I always break out with a few big ones right around my period. Lame. This has definetly cut down on that. I feel like my face is alot smoother, just a better all around feeling. It's not dry or greasy, just clean feeling. The 3 part system is good too. I definetly like that it has a SPF lotion for my face. I usually use that a few times throughout the day, just a few dabs and rub it in.
The cleanser I use in the morning and at night. When I wash before bed I use the acne control lotion. Basically my skin feels good.
Considering I was thinking of paying way more for Pro-Active I am very pleased with the results.
BTW, I also found this coupon online for $5 off. It's at the neutrogena.com site in the upper right corner.
I didn't not find this product effective at all. I actually ended up breaking out more then before I used it. One of my friends recommended it because it worked wonders for her skin. I would say if you have sensitive skin to stay away it will only make your acne worst.
This product works perfectly for me. It doesn't dry out my skin and it rids of my pimples quickly when they emerge. The overnight acne solution even stops pimples from happening when I feel one that's about surface! I have very sensitive skin and most other products just dried out my skin to the point of flakiness- ugh. However, this one was gentle enough, yet strong enough, to prevent acne and not dry up my skin. However, because of my extremely dry skin, I do use a different moisturizer that helps deal with the dryness greatly.
I was having some major issues with my acne due to a lot of stress and nothing was clearing it up.
I tried hordes of various acne treatments but thanks to my super sensitive skin my only results were burnt, itchy, peeling skin.
The Neutrogena system looked simple enough and it had a nice little snippet on the front claiming that it works faster than proactiv which I had always wanted to try but never had a credit card to seal the deal with. So I grabbed it and took it home.
I washed and applied the lotions religiously every night and day as 'prescribed' and low and behold my breakouts started melting away.. or if not melting, as let's face it that would be kind of gross and unsanitary, going away. It even worked on the blackheads I had been having trouble with for years.
It didn't burn me or make my skin super dry and itchy. My breakouts started dissapearing within three days (as advertised, yay for true adverts!) leaving my skin soft, silky smooth to the touch with a nice healthy glow to it.
Is it a miracle acne treatment? No, but it is an acne treatment that worked well for me and I highly recommend it for anyone who has hard to get rid of breakouts or even just troublesome blackheads.
Side Notes:
Be sure to use the system as directed. or if you don't want to use it both day and night only use it during the day as the night lotion WILL dry your face out if you don't wash it off and apply the day lotion the next morning.
I purchased this set from walmart when it was on sale (just thought you should know why my price paid is lower than the actual price)
