Neutrogena Healthy Skin Instant Skin Refiner is the first skin care product that surprisingly wowed me.

I am almost 40 years old, I am a smoker, and I work in a job that exposes my skin to all the elements of nature. I would classify my skin as a combination of oily in the T area, dry in the chin normal to oily everywhere else with enlarged pores and the early stages of aging skin. The presence of wrinkles is starting to be visible.I found this on a shelf by itself away from the rest of its family of Neutrogena products. Talk about a non intentional fabulous find- I did buy it without knowing anything about it; Just on a hmmmmm I wonder. After my morning regime I applied the mystery refiner and let it do its job. It instantly awoke my skin it felt as i imagined that of the sun coming up from behind the clouds after a quick summer rain shower. My skin was definitely refreshed. It has a very pleasant smell to that added to my after the rain moment. it smells somewhat of a light floral maybe lavender mixed with a classic smell of bubble gum from the 80's, cant quite put my finger on the scent but either way it is -for lack of better words-YUMMY. Thick and creamy with a matte finish a little goes a long way. It is recommended to use after moisturizer all over, but for me I use it just where I need it -in the T area -making the product last longer on my shelf. It didnt clog my pores and didn't feel heavy given you don't over use. I noticed an immediate change in the texture of my skin, my pores looked amazingly tighter and smaller and my skin tone looked even not so blotchy. The biggest shock for me was the difference it made on my pores. Ive spent ridiculous amounts of money on Prestige skin care products and this drug store brand killed the notion of the more you pay the better the product idea. This is a hit and should get more recognition. It comes in a 30ml packaged inside a box and is in a price range suitable for all. I look forward to applying this to my face every morning for a long period of time!! 5 stars for sure!!

I was looking for something that I could use almost like a primer, but less heavy duty on days I am not putting on makeup. I have very dry skin and this is not moisturizing enough for me to use on its own. Maybe I bought a lemon, but mine has almost...texture to it, it's slightly gritty. This was not something I was expecting at all and really ruined the whole thing, it doesn't feel nice when it goes on and it strips my face of the nice feeling from other moisturizers.
CONS: tube leaks when sat down without cap (why couldn't it be in a pump bottle?), mine has a weird texture to it
PROS: love the smell, it does provide some refinement to the skin, definitely matte and lasts pretty well
If you are looking for something that will help mattify your face and just tweak your skin to look a little smoother and more "blurred" I would say try this, do not expect it to be a BB cream.
