Great SPF moisturizer for sensitive skin!

I have always struggled to wear SPF on my face. My skin is sensitive and has a light-medium olive tone to it. All products containing SPF either cause me to break out, have eczema flare ups, pill and fall off my skin, and/or make me look ashen. I had settled for a sunscreen that makes my skin look whitish-grey, but at least it stayed on my face and I didn't get eczema or acne from it. NEUTROGENA Hydro Boost with SPF has changed all that! It doesn't irritate my skin or pill. As long as I don't put on too much, there is no grey cast. I can even apply makeup over it. Bonus is, it's also moisturizing, which is great for my dry skin. It's still quite cold where I live, so I'm using this product on top of another serum and moisturizer.. I expect in the summer I'll be able to wear just this product over my serum, which is great! I am so happy to find a daily moisturizer with SPF that works for me! I will definitely be repurchasing.

The gel cream is stored in a very cute blue jar. The jar is a good size and you do not need a lot to be able to cover your face.

The gel cream is light and absorbs quickly. It has minimal scent which is good for people who are sensitive to smells.

I have combination skin and It did not make my skin feel greasy or cause any irritation or redness afterwards.

Not only this gel cream helps improve tired skin, it also protects it from the sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays.

Major hydration!

During the cold, harsh winters it doesn't take long for my skin to get so dry that it hurts so finding something like Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream with like hitting a mini lottery! The gel is so silky smooth and the second I started to massage it into my face, my skin instantly felt less sensitive, less tight, and for less dry. I have been using it regularly now for a couple of weeks and my skin has stayed hydrated day after day. Big time bonus for me that it also contains an SPF because that is so important!

Amazing SPF moisturizer for under makeup!

Received this product for free from @thisisbutterly to try for an honest review. I actually really like this product from Neutrogena. It has SPF 25 which is great even in the summer. It's very lightweight which is great for my combination skin. No breakouts for me! Lightly scented but I love that. It's actually a light blue which is a cute touch. Very hydrating without being greasy. My new favorite morning moisturizer especially because you can wear it under makeup without it pilling!

Great lightweight moisturizer

This lightweight water-based gel cream is super moisturizing. It is oil-free, non-comedogenic and great for my combination skin. It absorbs really well and wears great under makeup without pilling. It has a bit of sun protection with an SPF of 25, but it feels really light and you don’t feel like you’re wearing sunscreen at all. The only con is that it is only SPF 25 and I prefer using a daily sunscreen of at least SPF 50.

Perfect combo cream for normal to oily skin

Tbh, I always liked the concept of cream + spf especially since it means one less step in my ✨exhaustive✨morning skincare routine 😌 So I was definitely excited to try it!

I’ll review it in two part: sunscreen & hydratation.

For the sunscreen part: it applies well and dries quickly without leaving behind a white/grey cast (yay inclusivity!) or an oil field. It says “non-comedogenic" but that term isn’t regulated per say since what’s comedogenic might vary from person to person. However, the usual suspects are absent from the formula, so that’s a plus! Personally, the only outbreak I had while testing it was when I forgot to wash it off at night so just learn from my mistakes 😂 Otherwise it’s quite effective and I just top it with my usual sunscreen when needed throughout the day.

For the cream part: it’s hydrating but for parched dry skin that’s been battered my unforgivingly freezing winds, it came a little short. Definitely more a gel I’d reserve for summertime or recommend for normal to oily skin types. One thing I enjoyed is how seamlessly it blended with my makeup! Zero piling or moving around 😙


Overall, it was a pleasant product and adding SPF to your routine is the number 1 grace you can give your skin! So if you enjoy a more minimalistic skincare routine or have hectic/busy mornings, this 2 in 1 cream would definitely be for you!
