First time trying a water gel sunscreen!
I was surprised that this is a water gel sunscreen as it definitely feels more like a cream like texture and consistency. It hydrated my skin after application and as advertised, it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy nor did it break me out (always a bonus!) I have a combination type sensitive skin and this product worked well for me! So glad that I #gotitfree as this has been my go-to for the last week and a bit! :)
Good SPF But Little Greasy
I got this from chickadvisor or reviewing purposes. This is a really nice spf to protect your face. It moisturizes a little bit but I reccomend you wearing a moisturizer underneath. This face sunscreen is pretty greasy even though it claims it’s non oily. I took a napkin and dabbed the oil off, then it was fine. I didn’t try it under makeup because I felt it to be to greasy. I’m not sure if it was my skin acting up or if it was the product. It didn’t break me out which is a plus. It’s nice if you were going to a pool or lake for the day. It sinks into the skin nicely and the only thing left is the oily residue.
Doesn't hold up to sweat
I received this product free for review from the Product Review Club and likely won't be purchasing it in the future.
This sunscreen has a nice light scent and soaks into skin nicely, but doesn't hold up to sweating very well. I wore this while coaching softball and as I started to sweat, the sunscreen ran into my eyes and burned like hell. I wouldn't recommend it for active children for this reason alone. I can't comment on its effectiveness for sun protection though, as we haven't really had enough sun yet. It did keep my skin well hydrated and was only a little greasy feeling, which is expected of most sunscreens. I will likely continue to use this on my body, but definitely not on my face.
Looking forward to warmer weather
I received NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST WATER GEL SUNSCREEN SPF 50 free to review in exchange for my honest review.
Although there isn't much sunny weather where i am, i did use it. It's creamy as apposed to gel like in my opinion.
I liked it but I wasn't overly sold on this product just yet. When the sun is out more I will have to try it again and see how I react to it.
It's spf 50 which is a bonus since I have only use up to SPF 35 so far in other brands. I liked that my skin absorbed it quite fast so I didn't have that tacky feeling throughout the day.
The only downside I see is the amount of times I would have to apply it.
Love the consistency!
A lot of sunscreens are overly creamy and sticky. This sunscreen basically melts into the skin. I also like that is goes on clear. Many sunscreens have that white tone that is hard to rub into the skin. Please make a children's version!
Like a body lotion
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review from ChickAdvisor. While Canada has not been hot enough to truly test the sunscreen, I do love that it comes in a squeeze tube and applies like a body lotion. It does not leave you feeling sticky or oily and absorbs into the skin pretty fast. I only wish that it stayed on my body longer. I find that having to re-apply every 2 hours a bit too excessive.
Has become my regular suncreen
I was so thrilled to receive it as part of the ChickAdvisor campaign. I have always wanted to try the Hydro boost skincare line. But the due to the price point, I never did. This one is definitely not for the sensitive skin. You have to be careful while applying. For the first 4-5days, I would just apply it as I do with my Moisturizer. It got into my eyes, my eyes would hurt like hell for the 30 minutes. Then I got careful applying it. Also, if you use retinol and the area around the eye is thin, it stings for a moment. All things aside, This checks each point in my finding perfect Sunscreen checklist. It doesn't leave a white cast on my brown skin, moisturizes skin, does not break out. I will definitely purchase it again. And they should come up with the Hydro boost physical Sunscreen.
Sample trial through ChickAdvisor
I recieved the NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST WATER GEL SUNSCREEN SPF 50 for free through ChickAdvisor. I received this sample during the Canadian winter, which does not require much sunscreen as the sun is out a limited amount and it is still cold so going outside isn’t an often occurrence, so I do not know the SPF qualities. The texture is cream-like and blends in quickly with a soft texture left on the skin, the fingers however have a slight starchy or sticky texture left behind after rubbing the product in. The fragrance is of typical sunscreen and is very strong, it also lingers after some time.
Good drugstore option
I really like the texture of this sunscreen, it doesn't leave any oily residue as it spreads like a moisturizer. The cream is very light and it absorbs quickly with no oily residue. It doesn't leave a white cast when used with flash photography. I will continue to use it during the sunny months and see how well it performs during high UV days+sweat.
Refreshing sunscreen
I received this product as part of the Chick Advisor review club. I am glad that i use the sunscreen for my vacation last week in Asia, it was very hot compared to my city it is still cold. This sunscreen does give a refreshing feeling and has a thick, yet light texture. It absorbs well. It doesn't leave white cast and it is not sticky. It has a hint of a fresh scent. After a long day, it does moisturized and hydrated my face, but it gave my face shiny. My face is oily, that is why xD I recommend to everyone, but for oily people just beware, or try, it may works for you!
