98% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Not for me
This product wasn’t right for me. I have oily and this product make it worst. It feels good when you applied but after a little while my face is way too oily I have to bring facial wipes everyday I wear it. So unfortunately this is a no good for me.
A sunscreen for dry skin?
I received this Neutrogena hydro boots gel cream spf 30 for free from ChickAdvisor. When I applied a little amount of sunscreen on the back of my hand, it leaved a matte finish. However it doesn't work on my face (I have combination skin), it made my face feels greasy. I think it's better for dry skin.
SPF needs to be higher
The hydro boost water get sunscreen was easy to apply on the skin. It didn't leave any residue, therefore was easily absorb. I normally use SPF 50 and higher therefore I wouldn't use this product when long exposure to the sun.
I have to be honest...
I have to be honest, I tried using this on a few different occasions to give it a fair chance but there is an ingredient in it that causes skin irritation on my face, my skin began to itch within seconds each time and caused a temporary rash.
*I do have sensitive skin so this kind of reaction is not uncommon for me, but this is the first Neutrogena product that disagreed with me.
As a result, I can't offer an opinion on its effectiveness as a sunscreen :/
I love that this is water based!!
I tried. The smell of this is too overpowering! The feel of it is amazing though. I've never used a sunscreen like this one before. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the scent.
Pilling when layered
I used it on the top of my moisturizer and I saw it was pilling. Same happened when I layered it with my serum. It should be used as is and should be be layered with other products. I love that it is absorbed easily without leaving any white residue. Smells great.
Not bad
The sunscreen I’ve been using for my face. It’s not bad at all but it wouldn’t be my first choice either.
It sits well under my makeup and as far as I can tell has been effective protecting my skin from the sun.
I would purchase it if I needed some and my usual products were out of stock or if I was in a bind but not my first choice.
Average
I was selected to try the NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST WATER GEL SUNSCREEN SPF30 for free from ChickAdvisor in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions and I love it. I love the addition of Hyaluronic Acid to help lock in and retain moisture in my skin, especially when I am in the sun. This summer I have lots of trips planned and as someone who loves the sun, I know how important a good SPF is!
The white gel product comes in an easy to squeeze tube and dispenses easily. It smells AMAZING, unlike most other sunscreens which makes me and my family even more eager to put it on. Even after drying it still smells great on the skin. The product is non greasy and the gel makes it feel like you are applying a moisturizer. It spreads easily on the skin but I noticed that it leaves a gritty like texture on my skin in which my skin feels dirty. For that reason, I do not feel comfortable putting this on my face. The SPF30 is awesome and provides great UVA/UVB protection against sunburns.
I didn’t find my skin to get as hydrated or quenched as I expected and I dislike that you are supposed to reapply every 2 hours. I wish it lasted longer without reapplication. I am unsure on whether or not I would recommend or purchase this product as I like the SPF30, I enjoy the scent and I love that there are no white streaks on my skin. I think the price is a little steep for a sunscreen that you have to reapply every 2 hours and that leaves your skin feeling gritty and dry. Overall, I would probably wouldn’t purchase this again.
Good texture
This sunscreen has a great gel like texture. I like that it has hydrating hyaluronic acid. The biggest con personally is the scent. It is quite strong. If they can make it milder it would be great.
Decent
I got this product for free to try. It goes in milky smooth and isn't too greasy. There hasn't been much sun out lately so can't wait to fully test it out and see how it works against the sun. Not a fan of the smell though
