Didn’t help my acne

Unfortunately after months of use this product was not effective in helping clear up my acne. It left my skin feeling soft, but unfortunately was no help for my acne.

I liked the smell at the beginning but after I started to run the product into my face,the smell went away all together.After I washed and dried the product off my face,my skin felt really dry and sticky.Not pleased at all.

I really liked the scent of this product, it's a nice and fresh way to start the morning, but not too overpowering, which I had feared with grapefruit. I started using this product when I received it and after the first couple of days it did start to appear that my acne was reducing. After about 4 days of using this product, I started breaking out all over my face, really harshly. I immediately switched back to my Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser and my skin started to return to normal.

I'm not sure if the breakout was related to the switch in products or not. I love Neutrogena products so I had high hopes for this product and am planning on trying it again to truly assess it. I will update my review when I do, but as of now, I was disappointed with the product.

Wouldn’t buy again

I want to start off by thanking chickadvisor for sending me this product free to try. Unfortunately I do not really enjoy face cleansers that are cream, they just have a weird consistency to me. I liked that it was pink like their other products, there wasn’t a strong smell but a light one. I mixed with a bit of water on my skins surface and the foaming got activated, the more you massage the more bubbles. It didn’t feel like it was doing anything particularly. It was okay, the thing i dislike about cream is it feels so slimy on my skin and hands, then leaves my skin feeling dry. So for that reason I wouldn’t buy again. However, I do love most Neutrogena products and if a friend or family member who enjoyed cream face cleansers was looking for one I would recommend and give them my experience to let them decide. I am a lover of their pink grapefruit gel cleanser and will continue to use that.

Made my face dry like a desert

Product smells great and is very easy to use but left my face so incredibly dry it took me over a week to return to a normal moisturized state without flakes! My cheeks were the worst as if it burned the skin! I was so disappointed. I did like the cream to foam aspect of the product.!

This smells good and the premise of cream to foam is a good one. It does leave skin feeling clean but has actually cause more breakouts since my teenager started using it. Being that it's an anti-acne product this makes it fairly useless in my estimation.

Cool Sensation, but Ineffective

I was fortunate to have been selected by Chickadvisor to test out this product for free.

I really enjoyed the light grapefruit smell this product has. I was a bit afraid that it would be overwhelmingly strong, or even dyed a bright shade of pink, but fortunately this product is light when it comes to both of those.

The product says to use a dime sized about but I found that I can easily use about half a dime size to effectively wash my entire face. It comes out as a thick cream and really foams up into a nice lather when you add water! It feels really refreshing on the skin, even though it stings a bit for me personally.

My biggest gripe, and reason I rated this so poorly, is that I've broken out since using the product. I do have oily, acne prone skin, but I have my skin under control and never break out unless I'm at certain points in my Cycle. I swapped my usual acne control cleansers out with this product, and since starting the test I've begun breaking out around my nose and upper lip (areas I don't typically break out) and my chin. I was confused because I had assumed the effective element of this cleanser would be salicylic acid, but found that is not included in this product! My skin will absolutely break out unless I use salicylic acid, so I believe that's what happened to me. I may be able to include this grapefruit cleanser in my routine at night when I don't use an SA cleanser, but I'm afraid that it may be too harsh (due to the stinging).

Overall, this product doesn't work for my skin. The cleanser itself doesn't seem to stripe my face too much of its oils, but it does sting a bit. Because of that I'm afraid it may be too harsh to be used in conjunction with a salicylic acid product (whether that be an SA cleanser at another time of the day, or a toner). And other than that, I really don't see any benefits in using this product, or how it would be better for my skin than my current products. The price itself is low in comparison to how much product you need per use -- so I think this bottle would last a pretty long time.
