Not thrilled about this product

I was super excited to try Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair cream for free from Chick Advisor.

I had very high hopes for this since I was also selected to try the other items in the Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair line and was very impressed. Unfortunately this cream did not meet my expectations. I used this cream day and night for the first week but found it was to heavy and my skin was not absorbing it. It felt like the cream was just sitting on my skin. I was left with breakouts and oily skin. I continued to use only at night for the remaining weeks but same results in the morning. This product is just not for me and my skin type.

Mixed feeling about this cream

I got to try this product for free from chickadvisor. I was super excited to try this cream but it wasn’t a good experience. At first I felt like I looked brighter after the first few days of use, but after a week of using it twice a day my skin got extremely dry and irritated and I couldn’t even apply my makeup. My cheeks hurt, felt raw and was red and flaky. I followed directions and used only once a day every other day and that helped my face, But at that point it made my neck all red. overall it wasn’t the best experience and I feel like it did more harm then good. My face does look brighter after 3 weeks but unfortunately my neck did not adjust to the formula and looks terrible.

Not what it seems.

I received Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair in the Fragrance Free formulation. Well if this is fragrance free, what’s with the smell?
I did not see any change to my skin besides giving me hydration.
It states that it contains Retinol SA which is less potent than actual Retin-A. It also states that it includes Hyaluronic Acid. But with both of these ingredients there is no percentage given.

Be careful of the retinol

I got this product free to try but I wasn't able to continue using it after a week due to irritation. I put only a very thin layer on my face but after continuous use day and night for a week I got red patches on my cheek area and bits of my skin was flaking off. The cream was fine on my forehead and neck after use so I would continue using it and I find that my skin is a bit tighter after use. I would recommend this cream to someone who is used to retinol but be careful as it could be strong.

Not bad

I got to test this for free , for my honest review. Unfortunately it came late so I only got to use it for 2 weeks straight not recommended 3. I actually liked this cream , made my skin feel really soft and didn’t make my makeup flake underneath like some do, I never experienced any flakiness really just a bit on my nose, few times I would feel a slight tingly , i would definitely buy this in the future !

Re patches

After using this face cream for abut two weeks my eye lids started to get red patches on them and would burn when I applied the cream. It took me a few days to realize that it was due to the new face cream I had been using. I do not have sensitive skin so I was kinda shocked about this.
It made the rest of my face feel tight after using so I think it would help with wrinkle given the chance, but I had to discontinue use.
I was not a fan of the smell. The texture was good and a little goes a long way. My eyes just did not agree.

Good, but average, moisturizer.

Seeing early signs of aging, I have started trying products to help prevent and delay the effects on my skin, so I was eager to try this. The positive is that it is a nice thick moisturizer, it feels soothing and the creamy/slightly jelly texture is smooth and non-greasy. It moisturizes dry spots, but doesn't make oily areas worse on my combination skin. The one small downside is I notice a little bit of pilling of the cream afterwards if I rub/scratch my face so it doesn't all soak in (and I am applying only a thin layer). I tend to prefer creams that soak into my skin completely for a better makeup layer base so might prefer to use this at nighttime only. As far as aging benefits on fine lines, I haven't noticed any improvement visually - though I hesitate to use this in my review since I expect it will take many weeks/months of continuous use to see any actual difference if there is to be any. #gotitfree

Too harsh for my skin but could be good for others

Feels and smells like a medium thickness unflavoured yogurt. I may have preferred a slight scent. I keep expecting this cream to contain SPF and wouldn't be surprised if they introduced a new product with that.

It is a thick cream. I think there may be some people who would think the cream is too heavy for daytime wear. It feels very hydrating which is important right now in the winter but I would feel hesitant wearing this in the summer as it would feel too heavy.

The more you rub it into your skin, the more it tingles. Especially around sensitive areas, you can feel the tingle and sting but it doesn't last. After about a week of use - once in the morning and once before bed, the thinner areas around my eyes are raw and sensitive. It hurts to put any product on those areas and it seems to have made my skin rough and patchy but not flaky. The Retinol SA may be too harsh for my skin.

The product says it will: "regenerate, moisturize, and smooth skin."

Regenerate - yes I think this cream does this.
Moisturize - yes.
Smooth skin - personally, I think my skin looks worse after using this wrinkle cream. The bags under my eyes look grey because the skin is rough and patchy and it seems to enhance my pores and make my skin look dull. I stopped applying face makeup the last few days because it made my face look terrible and I just wanted my skin to heal and go back to normal.

I've stopped using the cream all over my face after a week because the areas around my eyes were burning whenever anything came in contact with my skin (facial mists, aloe, etc). I continue to apply the cream around the edge of my face and the lower portion of my face but completely avoid the T-zone area and undereyes (where the wrinkle cream is most needed).

My skin rejected it

I was very excited to try the product. It came in nice metallic color packaging. Texture is rich yet not too greasy. Cream is fragrance free yet still scented.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience the effects of the product as my skin reacted really badly to the cream.

Not sure if the product is for me ....

I prefer a lighter consistency with my products. This one is a bit too heavy for my preference but I do LOVE the fragrance Free! I would recommend for those that are looking for this type of product.
