The great thing about this nail polish is that it's really the same thing as the normal OPI polishes, packaged differently with different names. But it's just as good, for a cheaper price. Especially when Wal-Mart and drugstores will have periodic sales, and it's much harder to find that at a salon or wherever else you get your OPIs. Amazing staying power, great colours that look good with just one coat. It's worth the extra couple of bucks to get this over some other drugstore brand!
The one slight complaint, but it's kinda inevitable with nail polishes ... it does dry out sort of fast, and gets sort of thick and gloopy. Warm it up a bit before using it (just rubbing between palms will do) and it does help a little bit. And of course ... the variety of colours comes no where near OPI's extensive selection, but all the basics (such as a classic red) are there.
Alright, sit down dears, this is going to take a while! :D I have 20 (twenty) Nicole by OPI colours as well as their clear top coat, their "vitamin plus" basecoat, the bottle of pink hearts ("love your life"), the bottle of purple stars ("Let's get star-ted") and a bottle of glitter polish which is just glitter and has no base colour called "gone wishin'".
Below you will find a list of all the colours that I have, what I think about them and my description of their colours! Cheers.
PURPLES:
-Truth or Lilac: A very light (light, not sheer) lilac purple with a hint of pink.
-Make a Change: the first Nicole colour I ever bought! Well, technically I borrowed it from a friend and then bought my own because I loved it so much. This is a standard medium purple colour, more blue or black based than anything else.
-Star of the Party::::: this is definitely a "wine" colour, it looks like red wine, not quite red, not quite purple definitely good with two coats. Has a shimmer but almost seems matte in texture.
-Let's Get Star-ted::::: clear nail polish with holographic glitter and shining lilac purple stars. I've never used it on the whole nail, but I use the stars as parts of designs and they stick down well.
-Gone Wishin'::::: as I already mentioned this is not a color and simply a glitter. There is a deep purple and navy blue glitter inside a clear nail polish. Perfect for layering or as accents on designs. I constantly search for ways to involve it in my nail designs because I like it that much.
PINKS:
-City Pretty Rose::::: Standard pink cream colour. Needs two coats, no shimmer, no glitter.
-Love Your Life::::: About the same as "Let's get star-ted" but pink, and hearts instead of stars. holographic glitter and pink hearts. Really pretty if used properly, you cant just expect the hearts to fall in the right place, you have to position them.
-It's A-may-zing::::: very bright hot pink with a to die for shimmer must have for summer. I would almost say this colour is metallic in comparison to the following.
-Daisy's Lazy::::: Very comparable to the above color. In swatches you might not see a difference, but if you do the whole nail I promise you that having both of the colours is 7/10 times worth it. Daisy is a darker pink/almost red, very pretty for all seasons.
REDS:
-I Stop For Nicole::::: Very sparkly true red colour, I use three coats just to be safe, this colour reminds me of Dorothy's shoes from the Wizard of Oz.
-Deeply In Love::::: Deep almost blood red. Needs only one coat, possibly go over the tip of the nail a second time if you don't like to be able to see the difference. Creme colour, no shimmer, no glitter, medium gloss.
ORANGE/ CORALS:
-Fresh Squeezed::::: BEAUTIFUL. The holy grail of sparkly, glittery oranges. The ONLY thing that could be better about it would be if it were a cream colour instead of a glitter, but it's definitely my favorite orange nail polish.
-Mango Maven::::: For this colour and the next colour, keep in mind that they are very similar. I would buy one or the other since they're fairly expensive polishes. Mango Maven is the more orange of the two.
-The Right Thing::::: This has more of an pinky-blue tint to it. It's also very... muted with only one coat. I still really like the colour but I would not have bought both of them had I known they were so similar. If you can see the bottles together, there is very little difference. However, I bought them at separate times, so I was tricked.
YELLOW:
-One Voice::::: This is the only yellow colour I have tried from any company so far. I find that a lot of them look very green in their bottles and I wanted something that was a true yellow. One voice is not exactly true to how it looks in the bottle, but it's more golden on the nail, rather than green. I like this colour, but it takes two coats with a teeny bit 'heavier' hand to let the colour reach it's full potential.
NEUTRALS:
-Cocoa a Go Go::::: This colour always makes me want hot chocolate. It's creamy and shimmery and a little bit pinkish too. It's definitely more brown than anything else, which is good, because it's supposed to be. Get's a bit darker as it gets more opague.
-Razzle Dazzler::::: This is the only black nail polish that I have ever tried that I have ever liked. It's very opague in my opinion and only needs one coat if you're careful.
-Positive Energy::::: (I know this isn't technically neutral, but I didn't have anywhere else to put it) This is the more opague of all the silvers that Nicole has. I've never bought the other ones, but I've seen swatches and P.E. is also the 'coldest' one because it doesn't show the pink of the nail through it. It's more metallic than glittery or shimmery, this is the second colour I bought from Nicole by OPI and I will certainly buy this colour again when I'm out.
GREENS:
-Make Mine Lime::::: Bright green lime colour, super sparkly. It has a bit of a gold tone to it, but the sparkles are a green-silver colour. Definitely unique.
-Faux Fir::::: Super dark, super shimmery forest green colour with an appropriate name. One of the 2009 Christmas collection.
TURQUOISE/TEAL:
-It's Up To You::::: Dark Navyish turquoise colour. I classify this as a turquoise for the shimmer (which is green blue) rather than the base polish which is a blue colour.
-Global Beauty::::: Blue green colour with an aquamarine shimmer to it. Appears to be a bit more green than blue
BLUE:
-Loyalty to Royalty::::: There's no other way to describe this than royal blue. Looks good on toes and fingernails. Possibly a bit dark for some, but I'm rather pale and I think it looks good on my skin.
Overall these polishes have a good formula with minor inconsistencies. The ones with actual glitter in them are a bit harder to remove. Be sure to use your favorite base coat so that you don't get staining around your cuticles which I noticed with some of the really dark colours.
Hope that was helpful to some of you! :D
***EDIT**** The only thing I will say is that (in Canada, or at least where I live) these polishes are 10.49 CAD.
I love this nailpolish! I got it in the black color (i dont know the actual name because i took the sticker off).
i got it because all the other black nailpolish i tried i had to put on 2 or more coats to make it dark, with this kind i only have to do one coat and its perfect. i love it and use it often.
