For a meer $249, why not have weeks and weeks worth of family fun? It is the perfect party starter as well! My husband purchased a Wii last year and although we have not had the time to play it recently, I absolutely love it! Its something that can sit out and not be an eye sore.

I got one for Christmas and love it. I was afraid after the first month it would gather dust, but we've played it regularly. I just wish I had more time for it. I also got the wii fit and really enjoy that, though it is not the most intense workout. I've just gotten EA Sports Active which I've heard is great, but haven't had a chance to try it. Mariokart is very popular at our house, as is Tiger Woods Golf 2010. Would highly recommend getting a Wii!!! It is fun for all ages!

It's a lot of fun for the first couple of months...and it continues to be as long as you keep on getting new games. Definitely better than sitting on the couch with a traditional controller. It's a lot more entertaining when you have more than one player, but you need a lot of space to swing the Wiimotes.

Last year I finally got my hands on a Wii after months of searching, and I must say it's worth every penny. Personally I'm not a gamer but the game has turned me. I purchased the Wii Fit game to have something for myself and I have already lost a total of 55 pounds. I feel this game is good for people of all ages as no matter what you like they have it. I love how the game allows you to do all the work instead of relying on a controller to do it for you. Given that exercise has fallen to the bottom of most people to do list. The Wii will definitely give you a workout, and you wont even notice until after you are done.

I would recommend this game to everyone!!

My nephew asked me to get him one for christmas the year that it came out.I bought it early in november, thinking I would not find it later on.I told my nephew that I couldn't find one and that I would get him a different christmas gift. You wouldn't believe the look on his face when he opened it. I wish I had a video camera lol.He even did his happy dance lolll priceless. He has been glued to it ever since, even though he has almost every other game system as well. The wii is extremely versatile, and it allows you to actually expend calories as you are playing.I myself am waiting for a delivery of the EA SPORTS ACTIVE game that just came out.I can't wait to get it.Wii is the best game console available!

The Wii is a great for both gamers and non-gamers. There are endless options of games varying from sports, to cooking to puzzles etc. I don't use it that often but it's a great console none the less. I think the great thing about it is that there aren't gazillion bajillion buttons and functions. It's very user friendly and direct so all ages can enjoy it. I've seen a tv feature about a old folks home installing the Wii as one of their entertainment/activity and it was a hit. This goes to show how everyone can enjoy this. I also love how it can incorporate action/movement rather than just pressing a button. If you're looking for an activity for the family/date etc. the Wii won't disappoint.

I didn't get into video games until I met my current boyfriend but have become quite the gamer, so this is from a gamer's perspective:

    - The price: most consoles are released at 500-700 bucks a piece, so being released at 300 is a HUGE difference
    - The excercise factor: there is no comparison between this and real excercise, even if you get the Wii Fit (which I have), but if you're just getting into it it's a cute and fun way to start getting active, and if you're competitive you can get a pretty good sweat going
    - Great for parties
    - The biggest downside is the limited variety of games, especially in terms of games especially designed to work with the Wii's special controllers.

It might be a fad and it might stick around, but it's really up to Nintendo if they invest in more and better games for the platform.

Wii, in my opinion, is probably the best game ever invented. Not only is it a lot of fun but it gets you off the couch and interactive. I love the fact that its great for all ages, male or female. Definitely recommend trying the sports games...bowling and boxing are so much fun!!!! Cant wait to try some of the others!!
