at the time of the release of this product i had to have it. so a year latter i bought it . i played like crazy back then . but now i dont even play it at all. i want the new wii . i think that it will always be that way . i also think that its just a fad. it popular when a new gaming system comes out but then after awhile it fades as a new one comes out.
I recommend this for anyone who wants to work out and track calories. Buy this and the wii fit board separately and there is a lot of good ab and core workouts as well as yoga exercises to lose weight. The game aspect is OK but nothing special. If your a gamer you may not want this as the games are targeted to a younger audience I find.
My children have this but don't use it anymore, since they have a ps4. The only thing is that they can't play mario etc on the ps4 but they really don't mind. If you were thinking of getting one I would suggest a wiiU, it seems to be a much better option for kids 7 and up. This is good for younger kids. Ours wasn't modified but I have heard they are much better modified. Hundreds of games can be downloaded and movies etc.
when this came out it was the biggest deal. EVER.
the games are obviously more interactive and they're pretty fun, but the Super Nintendo still has a special place in my heart. I have gotten away with not purchasing one for this long and using other peoples' so I don't think I'll be buying one anytime soon unless they're super cheap
I have owned my Wii for years now and I definitely think this gaming system was just a fad. While I do enjoy how interactive it is I have become quite bored of it. I played it a lot at first with my friends and family, but due to the lack of quality games available I haven't played much recently.
I didn't buy the Wii personally, but it's still around. It's not being used daily - but when friends are over and there's nothing else to do, it gets used. But amongst friends, it is not the first console being picked up and used.
When we got the Wii my child was in Middle School. We used the machine all the time. Now she is in University and nobody even looks at the machine. It is just collecting dust. Buy when you children are young.
It was a good purchase at the time.
I had a Wii for a few years and we used it a lot for the first couple months. It was fun for a while but became less of a novelty. The games we enjoyed weren't made for Wii, so other consoles went up higher on our priority list. I think the Wii is great for people who aren't really gamers.
My favorite thing about this console is that it has something for everyone. We can use the Wii Fit and do some great exercising or we can play family games, all 6 of us play, taking turns and it's quite enjoyable. The remotes don't always work with some of the games we've played, which has frustrated all of us on more than one occasion. There is nothing worse than hearing children complain that their "toy" isn't working properly.
Overall we enjoy the system and will use it for many years to come.
I like it for the whole family. Even just basic games like bowling, golfing and tennis ate great. A bit expensive and wish the interaction with Netflix was better.
