My go-to!

My go-to lip balm - it's inexpensive, it lasts for a long time and it gets the job done. I also like the thicker size of it, there are lots on the market now that are too skinny, or the round ones that once you get to the bottom doesn't apply well - this is just a no fuss, effective lip balm. It's all I need.

It is soothing

It is very soothing on the lips and I found it to be very hydrating. It is always nice to keep an extra one in your purse, I liked that it wasn't sticky at all on the lips.

Provides great, lasting hydration for lips.

I used to be a Blistex-only kind of gal until I got some of this Nivea in a gift basket. It's now my lip chap of choice I keep on my night stand. It keeps my lips hydrated and unlike some other brands, doesn't have that addictive factor making you over-use it!

Nice

I use this lip balm every night before i go to bed and my lips stay nice and moisturized all night/day long. Its not crazy expensive so i appreciate that and it works well. During winter time i do use it more often maybe around 2/3 times a day but it keeps my lips from cracking! Very practical

Je l'utilise à tous les jours

J'utilise le NIVEA ESSENTIAL LIP BALM à tous les jours, 2 à 3 fois par jour (le matin, durant la journée et à tous les soirs en me couchant) car j'ai les lèvres qui craquent et pèlent sans arrêt sinon. J'ai toujours bien aimé le produit mais récemment ils ont sorti une nouvelle formule améliorée et on dirait que je l'aime moins. Je pense que je vais essayer une autre sorte la prochaine fois que je m'achète un lipsil même si cela faisait des années que j'utilisais celui-là.

Definitively not for very dry and cracked lips in winter

I buy this in Amazon because I need to add 49cents to obtain free delivery and I like the nivea moisturizing basic moisturizers fragrance. In winter, and most of the year, I have very dry lips. So I dont have enough lipstick and I have a tons everywhere in the house, purse, bags, car ... When the temp is going below 0C it's worse even if I'm not going outside.

I open the package and, like I said, I like the fragrance and the texture. I put it in my lips and wait. In first, after drinking a bit of my matinal coffee, I detect a "strange" taste on my lips and it came by the lip balm. It's not SO problematic so I keep it on my lips.

The texture is fondant, but the level of moisturizing or the ingredients use is not enough for me. I think this lip balm will be perfect for summer days. But not for winter or dry interior with the necessary heating that dries the air. I try it alone (not other moisturizer in night) for 2 days, my lips was so dry and cracked that I decide to put it aside and use Aquaphor to help my lips. For me, it'S like I put something VERY light on my lips. Not a substantial moisturizing for cold months.

I don't like that my review is not very positive because I think that nivea offers very goos product at very low price since long time ago! This is just not the product for my problematic lips but foe the average girl that have just little dry lips in clod months, it's probably enough.

You can't beat the quality/price ratio. The packaging is nice, it'S like a lipstick and not a balm like chaps, so it's easier and more pratical to use because that type of cape on the tube will not open in your purse or bag like lips balms of that category of price (and more expensive too).

The smells is very light and fresh, the texture is comfortable to wear, it's just not enough to me right now. But I will definitively keep it and try it this summer, will tell you at that moment my new review for hot months!

To resume, good product, very good affordable price, nice texture, lightweight side of moisturizing.

I recommend it for hot months or to people with no problematic lips.

Not my Favourite

I found this balm went on smooth and my lips were silky. However, the feeling was short lived and I found it needed more frequent reapplication than other balms and I didn’t like the taste of it either.

Not worth your money

Vaseline works just as a effective. Do not buy this! It's just a scam for money. If you are willing to drop money on a little tube of basically vaseline then thats on you

Mine melted!

I have been buying Nivea lip balm for years and usually purchase the hydrating lip care but the Essential Lip Balm was on sale and I figured it would be essentially the same product - but I was wrong! While the Nivea hydrating balm is light, moisturizing and has never let me down, the Essentials balm I noticed was softer at first but within 2-3 days had practically melted in the tube and when applying to my lips was closer to the consistency of toothpaste than lip balm! I ended up having to throw out both tubes which both "melted" as I found it next to impossible to use.

Makes me think that it was maybe a bad batch of the product and not the brand but I've switched back to their hydrating balm and won't by Essentials again.

Hydrating and Mosturising

-Really good value for money as it is very affordable.
-I like that it contains Shea butter and Natural Oils as it matters what the ingredients are.
-Product claims that it keeps your lips moisturised for 24 hours and they state this as it was clinically tested. I do not agree that it keeps your lips moisturised for this long. I applied it a couple of times a day and I have normal lips not dry ones.
-Contains Nivea original smell. This is not good for individuals who are looking for a fragrance free lip balm.
