Waste of money
I have dry cracked lips, and need a good lip balm. Nivea is usually my go to.
This product seemed like it was for a child. It was just shiny and pink. It didn't have the same effects as the other Nivea lip products. It made my cracked lips look worse than they did, and made me feel like I was wearing my 8 year old daughters play lipsticks. It was thick and waxy, and didn't give me any moisture to my lips at all.
Reminds me of lip gloss
I bought this Nivea product because I was happy with a lotion I got as a gift. I was disappointed with this lip balm. It reminded me of a lip gloss. It did nothing for moisturizing my lips and I didn't care for the pastel pearly pink color it left on my lips. That was after using it once, I gave it a second try and my husband was wondering what I did to my lips. I wiped it off and never used again.
Sorry to say I will not be buying again. But it was not for me.
I usually like to have some shimmer in my lip products but this was just a tad bit too much. As a balm it was ineffective - I had to keep reapplying it every 5-10 minutes or feel my lips being dry. It actually felt like it is drying out my lips.
I didn't care for this lip balm. It smelled quite strongly of perfume, which is not good considering it's sitting right under my nose. I found it hard to tolerate without getting into a coughing fit.
This lip balm did not moisturize my lips. All I ask of a lip balm is that it hydrates my lips, and additionally, does not dry them out. This failed on both counts. Perhaps it was due to the fact that it's trying to have a "pearly shine", thereby adding some sort of drying ingredients, but this really didn't feel comfortable. I don't have overly dry lips in the first place, but this sucked the life right out of them.
This does have a sheen to it, which, if you're looking for that sort of thing, I suppose you may like. However, I found it looked extremely superficial and unappealing, particularly when paired with the dryness. My lips looked like sandpaper with bits of chunky shimmer sticking to the flaky bits. It was not a good look.
Maybe some of the other Nivea lip balms are better than this one. I'd be willing to try a different formula, provided the ingredients are different than this, but this lip balm was a complete miss for me.
This is not my favourite lip cream....it's not very cream pay so it's a little hard to spread on the lips....not much of a shine either...I was expecting more from this product.
Everything would have been fine with this lip balm except for the down right awful pink shimmer that it leaves on your lips. I reminds me of the kind of shimmer lip balm that a 4 year old puts on when they are experimenting with make up and trying to look like mommy. It was horrible and I was so disappointed because i had such high hopes for this product.
I actually really like regular Nivea Lip Balm and have used it for years, so I was excited to try this one when a friend gave it too me. It seemed really dry in the tube, and I truly felt like I was rubbing a dried out product across my lips. It was new and sealed when I received it, so it's not like it had been left out and dried up. After I rubbed it on (I say rub instead of apply because it truly did require a little bit of force), there was a pretty color to my lips, but not a shine like the name suggests. The color seemed to wear off quickly. I won't be using this again - it did not leave my lips feeling nourished like other lip balms and the little burst of color was not worth the effort.
I really don't like this Lip Balm from Nivea to be honest. I purchased it after I had used the Nivea Essential Lip Balm because I thought it would be similar. I was very wrong.
We will start off with the scent, it was awful, it honestly reminded me of dollar store lip gloss.. Then I used it.. It looked like dollar store lip gloss when it was on. It seemed dry, and grainy almost. Tasted bad too. Plus it left a weird pink tone, it was just a disappointing purchase.
Overall, I would not repurchase.. Nor would I recommend for anyone to purchase.
I got this for free from the product review club.
I have very full, usually quite dry lips...in some stage of dryness. Pearly shine really doesn't work for me....it makes me look kind of corpse like, it accentuates the flakes of dry skin on my lips, it's not very moisturizing.....I would not purchase this again.
I received this product as a bonus along with the other Nivea Products for review. The lip balm goes on smooth does not pull on the lips and is moisturizing but it's not for me as the pink pearl shine didn't look good on my lips. I would much prefer a tinted or clear lip balm.
