Great for skiing or sitting on a hot sunny beach
I love that this lip balm is waterproof. It blocks out the sun with an SPF of 30. Works great when skiing - also helps with preventing windburn. The only con is that it does leave a hint of white sunblock look on your lips which people tend to notice but it works really well!
White casting
This product was probably the first lip balm that bought that had a higher SPF. I hate that it made my lips look white and unflattering. It isn't very moisturizing either. It is pretty cheap at about $3 for a 2 pack. It would probably look better if you put something over it like lipstick or lip gloss. I can't because my lips are bit chapped. Yay for SPF30 but boo for ghost looking lips. I would not recommend this using it on its own but yes if you use it with another lip product.
OK but too thick for my liking
I've been on the hunt for the perfect daytime lip balm with a high SPF ever since I discovered some sun spots forming on my lips. I was attracted to this product because of its high SPF factor, but I think that is also what is causing the thicker formulation that I don't love. Instead of gliding on smoothly, it has a bit of a gummier texture which doesn't feel as moisturizing. So while I don't doubt it provides high SPF protection, I'm going to keep searching for another lip balm with 20+ SPF and better moisturizing properties.
Makes my lips feel too goopy.
I really like the idea of a lip balm with SPF for camping and working outdoors, but unfortunately this product left my lips feeling goopy and I had to wipe it off shortly after putting it on, It is a much harder consistency than other Nivea lip balms I've tried, and my lips react to it by getting white "goop" around the edges - not very pleasant! I'll stick with Nivea's Hydra Care next time!
DUAL USE - No more dry lips, no more burn caused cold-sores!
Nivea Sun SPF30 lip balm is a must have. I used to get sunburn caused cold-sores and haven't had one since I started using this two years ago. I keep it everywhere. One in my purse, fishing bag, swim bag, ski pack, hunting pack, one in each bathroom and one in the jeep in case I run out lol. It's totally reasonable in price (I buy the duo pack off Amazon), and doesn't have any overpowering smell.
My go to lip care in the summer
I am an outdoor lifeguard and i have seen people get really bad burns on their lips. I bought Nivea SPF 30 because it had sunscreen in it. It really worked my lips never burned and i even put it around my lips for extra coverage. If i forgot my face sunscreen i would also apply it under my eyes for extra protection. it also really hydrated and protected my chapped lips.
Leaves a layer of weird
This is the worst lipbalm I have tried from Nivea. I like their other ones but this one didn't work on me. I bought it because it has SPF 30 but when I put it, it left white/yellowish layer of lipbalm on my lips (it just stays there). It also dries my lips a lot. I would not buy this again.
Love it!
Favourite lip balm in the world, so glad i tried it. It moisturizes/soothes cracked and chapped up lips and protect from the sun and i love hot when I apply the balm on my lips, it gives a tiny tingly feeling as if it's a sign of the spf 15 is doing it's magic.
Works well but the chalky taste....
I really wanted to put something on that would protect my lips.
This does that, I have not had a sunburn at all, however I find the chalky texture and taste quite unappealing. I find that it goes on thick and tastes badly.
I don't think I will buy it again.
