I agree with others in saying that Nutella tastes more like chocolate than hazelnut. I honestly don't really get any nutty flavour to this. That being said, it does taste good, though maybe not so good as to just eat it out of the jar.
I find the price to be a bit much, so I try to only buy when it's on sale. I use it on toast and crackers as a snack. Definitely do not believe the marketing, this stuff is not healthy for you. It's chocolate. It's like eating a chocolate bar. Use it sparingly as a treat.
We originally purchased Nutella as a lunch alternative from peanut butter for around the house (not for school, since it is a nut product). The kids never really liked it, but I can't keep my spoon out of the jar. I could literally lick the jar clean in one sitting! Its got that chocolate-y / nutty taste that's just so yummy. I love it, even if no one else in the family shares my opinion :D
I've really come to love Nutella over the years, though I tend to treat it as a dessert spread more than a breakfast item, unless I'm working out regularly. At 100cal per teaspoon, it's a bit on the heavy side considering it's somewhat low in protein. Still delicious and a great addition to crepes with bananas!
I'm pretty sure everyone loves Nutella. And if you don't, you should probably see a doctor about that, there is obviously something wrong with you ;). My dad has an unhealthy obsession with it, and pretty much has it at least once a day. God help you if you use the last of it in this household.
I don't have the biggest sweet tooth in the world. I actually could never eat Nutella (or chocolate or anything else sweet) everyday. But when I have a sweet craving, it is one of my favourite treats. I especially enjoy it on vanilla ice cream. There is something about how the texture changes when the Nutella gets cold that is almost toe-curling good. It can be pretty pricey, but it goes on sale fairly regularly, and we usually buy two when it does.
PS. I made the best ever Christmas cookies last year with Nutella, peanut butter, coconut and graham cracker crumbs.
Nutella is probably the best invention that has ever escaped from the small brain of man. I take a spoonful and I am in absolute bliss. A chocolaty dream enveloped me and by the time I came out of the wonderfully hazy mess that was my head I had finished practically my whole breakfast.
I love Nutella Hazelnut Spread because it is something my little girl will eat and she is allowed to have it at school even with people with peanut allergies. It is always hard to find different things for school lunches, so it is nice to have this alternative to peanut butter
Tastes chocolatey and delicious! Probably best saved for occasional treats, but a good luxury to save for a day when you really need it.
I like the taste of nutella but no one else in my family seems to like it. :(, I have made cookies with it and they eat them but not just out of jar
I myself am not a fan but my kids perspective is that it is fantastic. They eat it every day and it is a handy snack assistant for things healthy, like apples.
