This mat is useful in the kitchen, but it comes with a few caveats. It's not stiff, so if you plan to use it in the oven, you'll need to put something under it in order to slide it in without dropping anything. I thought it'd be quite handy to use on top of my usual baking trays to prevent them getting dirty, but unfortunately it stains very badly if used with greasy foods at all (but then, so do the baking sheets).

I would recommend this for use with doughs and baked goods rather than anything greasy, simply because it stains and unfortunately looks not very nice after that. It works well for rolling out dough and doesn't slip around at all. Because it's flexible, rather than being firm, the size is somewhat of a problem as it's difficult to wash in the sink. However, folding means that you can easily fit it in a cupboard.

I love the 'guides' printed directly on the sheet as well and the fact that it can survive extreme temperatures. Unfortunately, it's just not quite right for me and I've discovered I'd prefer a mostly rigid silicone mat. I'm still using it to help keep my baking sheets cleaner though and it does a great job of conducting heat!
