Coconut oil is my worst enemy!
I definatly didn't like my experience with the OGX NOURISHING COCONUT MILK SHAMPOO. However, that doesn't mean it's not good for your type of hair!!!
I wash my hair every two to three days. If I do it more often it tends to be dry and looks damaged. The past season was harsh on my hair too, with the sun and wind blowing through it all summer, I was happy to try a nourishing shampoo. But unfortunately, it made my hair greasy, and it looked dirty after one day at work, and I work in an office. So, I'm guessing this product isn't good for my type of hair. I need a shampoo, more gentle, that leaves no oily texture after washing. I like a shampoo that washes and that leaves not effect on my hair except shine, volume or strenght.
Bit Pricey
I find the OGX brand to be a bit pricey compared to most of the bargains I find, but I was able to find the shampoo and conditioner in coconut miracle oil for $7 each at Shoppers one day. I'd been wanting to treat myself for a while so I decided to pick them both up and start using them. While the shampoo lathered well and smelled great, it didn't really do anything different than my lower priced branded shampoos and there has been so much hype about this brand and about the properties of coconut oil. I found the conditioner to be a bit poorer in quality but I will cover that in another review - although the smell was great I found my hair to be like straw after using both one after the other. Full of tangles and painful to brush. Just not for me I guess! The coconut scented version they had before this worked much better on my hair (the coconut milk variety).
It's not had it smells nice but my hair wasn't growing or anything while using it hair stayed damaged and didn't grow so I switched products and been living it still have them all ay home though.
I bought this product as I love the scent of coconut and had heard great reviews about the line. I have dry hair and this coconut milk shampoo was said to by hydrating and nourishing my hair. I love the scent, but found that the product really dried my hair out. I have to use leave-in conditionner even after using the Organix Nourishing conditionner because my hair would be too dry without it.
It is a shame because the price is great and I love the scent, but the fact that I must also buy a leave-in conditioner for this to work great on my hair is expensive and I would not buy it again because of that. :(
