50% OF CHICKS DIG IT
After watching and reading rave reviews on these bars, I just had to try them. I bought two bars at $4.50 each. I unwrapped the first bar and it looked cute, covered in "icing" and sprinkles (sprinkles definitely remind me of a birthday!). I then went to cut the bar and was shocked to see how hard it was. From reviews, the bar was meant to be chewy, but mine was extremely hard and dry. It did not taste like birthday cake at all. I found the "icing" at the top added slight sweetness and was probably my favorite part of the bar, but even that was only mildly sweet and there was only a thin layer (not enough to cover the lack of taste from the actual bar). The sprinkles were also old and hardly even added a crunch. The protein bar had a mild vanilla flavor but overall tasted like nothing. There were a few crisps inside the bar, but even these were stale and hardly even added a crunch. Overall, I would not buy these again. I'm guessing the bar might have been old (the second bar I bought was the same texture), but due to this negative experience, I'm hesitant to buy another bar from this brand.
Wow...the guy at the shop couldn't stop raving about this bar...it was his favourite. So i bought 3...good thing for returns! It was awefully sweet. All I could taste was the sugar alcohol. I couldn't finish it after 2 bites!
My review of Oh Yeah's Cake Batter protein bar;
I love Quest protein bars, but these were on sale and seemed like a similar product. Low and behold, they were... not good. Sure, the protein aspect is great, but if the flavour isn't there, it's not worth it.
Great protein bars that are used as a supplement to add more protein to my diet, a quick snack, or to satisfy my sweet tooth.
Nut value is 220 cal, 21g protein, 24g carbs, 7g fat, and 1g sugar.
Avg price 2.50-3.50 per bar
