Smells beyond terrible. Price has gone way up, too.

I was buying Kal Kan 50 lb bags at WalMart but WalMart got rid of that brand to push its house brand, Ol Roy, harder. Well, Ol Roy is vastly inferior to Kal Kan. Even the package has shrunk to 46 lbs while the price went up 1/3.

The worst part of Ol Roy is the unbearable rotten odor it has. It doesn't even wash off your hands. Kroger's 50 lb bags of store brand dog food is fine and so is Kal Kan. Avoid Ol Roy. Nothing that smells that horrible can be healthy for anything to consume.

There are sites that claim that these horrible odors are fine because dogs have greater sensitivity of smell than people. Nope. People can smell rotten death. Dogs, if they're hungry enough, will eat unhealthy things.

Do not buy

I fed this to my dog and he was sick he had the runs and all I couldn’t figure out why then remembered my sister telling me it happened to her dog as well I read online that this is the worse food for your dog as it’s heavy on their stomach
Spend that extra 5 bucks and get something your fur baby can enjoy

My dog is pretty picky with his food and this is by far his favourite especially the Gravy one where you can add water and it turns to like a stew! Dogs need a little treat every now and then too!

When I got my dog, they had her on name brand dog food and she didn't eat much. My husband told me to get a cheap bag of food to see if she would eat something else better. Eight years later, we still use Ol Roy for all 5 of our dogs. We have tried different brands a few times, but the dogs don't seem to like other brands as much. It must not be bad for them considering one dog is 8 and another is 6 and both doing great. It is also a great price.

Dog food

I received my dog when he was 2 months old. He passed when he was 14 years old. from the time we received him he was given old roy dog food. Not once was he ill/ he never saw a vet for health issues

Good for the price

Although this dog food isn't at the top of our list it goes do the trick when you are on a tight budget and have furry friends to feed. If you add water it makes a stew that they seem to enjoy but it doesn't make for a nice mess to clean up outside.

Thoks dog food is the only food my fur baby's will it. It's cheap and seems to put meat on their bones. They haven't had any problems with the dog food. I absolutely live ol Roy.

Our dog is very picky with her food, even treats! She loves her Ol' Roy. She has been eating it for years, and will not touch another food! She is 9 years old, lean and healthy.

This has got to be the worst dog food on the market; I'm not kidding. I've tried it for my dogs and they balk at it. Because this was such a bad choice to buy on my part, I ended up giving it away only to be told that the dog got a bad case of the runs.I do NOT recommend this to anyone.
