I recently purchased three Opi colors from Amazon.com and I have to say that this is the best brand ever! The polish goes on really smooth and I can go almost four days before reapplying. I really like them and plan to buy some more cool colors once I can decide on the colors that will look best on my skin tone.
I love the color shades and the cute names but really opi nail color doesnt give much. unless a professional is doing your nails this color chips quite easily and you have to wait hours for it to dry (especially the black). I would go for a better nail polish overall.
Let me say for the record that these are amazing.
The colours are really opaque , so if you're trying to hide something on your nails, these are my number 1 choice, not that I have anything to cover, but...
Anyways, They glide on really smoothly and they can last a while. But what I hate about it is that it chips every so often if you're not careful. On the other hand, the bottle lasts forever because you pretty much only need one layer each time, except for "Suzy Says Feng Shui" in their HongKong Collection. I found that one is to be kind of streaky-ish. So, I had to maybe use 2-3 coats. But overall, I love their formula, even though there is a price to pay for it.
The formula isn't too thick or thin. In fact, it's like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. "It's just right." So, I recommend you try it out at Sephora or something, because you know, they let you try out ALL their colours.
PS: OPI has a sister nail brand called ChinaGlaze. I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but it's probably like OPI, except a lot cheaper. I've never tried it..yet, but I'm pretty sure they'd be almost the same quality, if not a fraction less. Just to let you know.
O.P.I nail polishes are great! I've been wearing them for a few years now and they are among my favorite. I love the variety of colors they offer, which sometimes are unique to any other brand and they last quite a long time before chipping. The size of the brush is pretty big, making it easy to apply the polish in just 3 strokes. They are not streaky and the formula is very smooth. I haven't had problems with the nail polish becoming too thick either. My favorite colors are Heart Throb (a delicate sheer pink), You Don't know Jacques (a grey taupe), and Big Apple Red (a classic bright red).
The only negative point is that they are a little pricey (almost $10 a bottle) and this may steer people towards cheaper drugstore brands.
Even though OPI is little bit more expensive then your department store brands, the few dollars are truly worth it. OPI comes in many colors and you don't have to apply many coats to get the effect you want. Not only are there many many awesome colors to choose from, OPI lasts a long time. So if you are someone who doesn't like to change nail polish on a daily or even a weekly basis, I recommend you spending a little bit more $ for it. ULta is a great place to buy OPI for a little cheaper than you would anywhere else. They also get smaller sets of it for really good prices just in case you want to mix and match it up with other colors in the set.
I'm not much of a nail polish wearer - but I do own 2 of their colours. What I like about them is that they dry quickly, they're not all thick and gooey (so that they don't go all over my fingers) and they have some pretty nice shades. I have a lighter pink and an terra cotta orange. Love them!
Ok I accidentally bought what I thought was a nice seafoam green OPI nail polish in a matte formula. It's Gargantuan Green Grape- Matte, to be exact. I've used a matte polish before but never one that came with instructions to not wear hand lotion (?) The colour is gorgeous and I actually liked the matte, but I don't know what happened, the whole bottle completely clumped up on me and now the formula is so thick you can't even use it. Originally it was smooth and dried quickly, but a month down the road it was completely unusable. I don't know if I did something like not screw the top on tight enough, or if the formula is just not good quality in the Matte version? Either way I would rather just have the normal enamel finish instead of risking a clumpy matte formula.
Opi is definitely my FAVORITE brand of nail polishes. It is long lasting and great quality. Like the majority every nail polish you need to apply 2 coats but it is very thick and long lasting. It lasts me on average of a week with a base and top coat! You have a huge selection of colors and there are always new collections coming out every season. The price may be more then your average nail polish but you get what you pay for. The quality is great and you get a big bottle. After using OPI i cant go back to using any other brand of nail polishes. They are also very shinny and can also get different textures in certain colors. I DEFINITELY recommend them!
I too was introduced to O.P.I. polishes in a nail salon. There are so many beautiful colors to choose from, it would take me forever to decide which one I wanted to use. They also have very unique names so they are easy to remember if you want use it again. The polish is great, goes on smooth and always shines. It stays on longer than most so its really worth the cost.
The price may be a bit more but so worth it. You actually save in the long run. The array of colors and the staying power is wonderfull.
This is the best nail polish a girl can ask for!! It goes on easily and stays on FOREVER, OPI also has every colour your looking for!! Far yet the best nail polish ive ever used:)
