For me this was worth every penny. With three children using a regular apple corer and than slicing the apples took a lot longer than this product. It takes literally seconds to both core the apple and slice it into segments. Its a pretty cheap product and its versatile. I would think it would work great for quick slicing of apples for pies and other baking.

A great tool to have in the kitchen. It sections your apple with ease and cleans up real nice. You don't need superhuman strength to press down with the quality built divider. It stays in place and cuts evenly. My kids like to dip their apple slices in warm peanut butter or warm Nutella. Helps you prepare a healthy snack for your family.
