    Not worth the $100

We purchased the ozark trail cooler for picnics and gatherings to keep food and beverages cold. We packed it with ice and loaded it with drinks along side a trusty old igloo cooler. First off I will say the ozark trail cooler is very difficult to open and close due to the rubber latches on the front of it to keep it sealed properly. Too hard, especially for a child, to open. The problem is if you do not keep it tightly latched it’s not sealed and the ice will melt faster and your contents don’t stay cold as they should. Poor design on the part of the company. I do like the fact that it has a measurement ruler on the top for those fishing trips! I also like the convenient cup holders molded into the top of the lid as well. They do come in handy for holding beverages. The drain plug is also attached nicely to the cooler with a metal chain, so it will not break off like most of the plastic drain plugs on most coolers. The construction of the cooler is also very heavy duty and also makes fo me a great seat! For the price I would say this cooler does not perform as well as a cheaper cooler. We filled two with ice side by side and left them in the Florida sun for about 16 hours in August. The other cooler was an igloo- it still had solid ice in it after the 16 hours! The ozark trail had cool water left- all the ice had melted.
