The shampoo & conditioner are great on their own. I didn't find the shake did anything extra. It separates so you have to shake it every time you want to use it and there were times I would forget. If I purchase the shampoo and conditioner, I won't be purchasing the shake.

As one of the selected here on Chickadvisor I got to try this for free.

I've never been a big fan of multiple step conditioning or hair systems in general. To me it just means one more thing that a company/brand wants you to spend money on and I've never really found a huge difference with or without the extra step/product.

Pantene's Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioning shake is lightweight and smells nice like the shampoo and conditioner. I found myself forgetting to shake the product on a couple occasions and since I don't always use a hair drier or other heat items, I don't often need additional conditioning or heat protection. The needing to shake and just looking at the one layer floating on the other after it settles, made me think of salad dressing, like I was adding flavour to my hair but did not seem to find any benefits in the end to going out and purchasing on a regular basis.

I may continue to use it, just to use it up and so it won't go to waste but I doubt I will go out and buy it on my own as I just don't feel I need it.

In the end I'm greatful for my chance to review the set of products and look forward to trying other new products in the future.

I received this product as part of the Trial and Review. I am very impressed with the shampoo and conditioner however this product failed to meet my expectations. To be fair I am not a user of products other than shampoo and conditioner. I thought that with my very long hair it might add some extra moisture...I found to the contrary...I used he shampoo and conditioner on their own without this last step and liked the effects better. I actually found that this spray dulled my hair and made it feel dryer. Sorry Pantene....But I think this is a fail-for me anyway. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review and try these products. A yes to the Shampoo and conditioner and Big no to the after styling spray.

To be honest, I didn't care for the product and it didn't do anything for my hair. I have fine straight hair that goes past my shoulders that is not chemically treated. I was excited about the idea of a heat protectant/conditioning spray in one but it did not live up to that. I did trials of the new Pantene Aqua Light line with just the shampoo and conditioner alone versus the shampoo and conditioner plus the spray over a 2-week period.

Absolutely no difference in my hair's appearance or manageability. The spray design also makes it hard to distribute in your hair evenly. I was also not a fan of the shaking... Sure, it's fun, but if there's that much separation in the bottle, I'm pretty sure it's separating on my hair as well. The scent is nice though.

It is definitely skippable in my books and I don't plan to continue using it now that the trial is over.

After reading the other reviews for this product I think I might need to try it again and maybe apply less of it or shake the bottle more because it looks like everyone loved it. I only used this product a couple of times because I found that it made my hair feel greasy so that scared me off a bit. I will update my review once I give this product a couple more tries. Love this leave-in conditioner. Light, great fresh scent and does not weigh my hair down. It helps soften my hair and facilitates my combing my hair.

I received this as part of the PRC and was looking forward to trying it!

I haven't used it as much I would have liked before reviewing it because I thought it was pretty much only for heat styling. I haven't been heat styling my hair lately so I thought I didn't really have much use for it. That its until I actually read the info on the back and realized that it was also a leave in conditioner! DUH haha! So
I think the product is unique in that it's a leave in conditioner and a heat protectant.

You REALLY have to shake the product well which I didn't do the first time I used it. The results: kind of a greasy effect. I also sprayed too much on the top of m hair so I really noticed how it weighed it down-which is the opposite of what it says it does. The next couple of times I used it I just sprayed on the length of my hair and the results were much better. It felt very soft, helped with frizz, and really helped with tangles!

I also like the smell-alcohol-ish and all!

I'm not sure if I would buy it in the future because it's not s product that I usually buy but I would recommend it to others.

First Impression
Okay, this is the coolest-looking leave-in conditioner I've tried. It has a blue layer and a clear layer, and you have to shake it vigorously to blend then into a homogenous solution before using it.
The fragrance reminds me of a liquer of some sort, because I could smell the alcohol in it. At the risk of sounding like an alcoholic, I have to say that I kind of liked the smell :)

Application
As I mentioned, you have to give this a good shake before spraying it on your hair. I found that if I stopped spraying it to massage it through my hair, it would start to settle back out to it's separate layers in a matter of seconds. It may be my imagination, but I found it settles faster when it's colder (in a very scientific basement-versus-ground floor comparison). It's not a big problem - just give the bottle a shake between every pump or two to make sure you get a good mix of what's in there.
The bottle says to apply it to damp hair, before heat styling. With the Aqua Light shake, I saw less product steaming off of my (dry) hair while I flat-ironed it than I do with some other products - I think this is evidence that penetrates into the hair better, rather than coating it.
ATTENTION CURLY GIRLS: I also tried using this product when I scrunched my hair into it's naturally curly state. I used it throughout the day on my dry, styled curls, to keep them hydrated and control the frizz. It is *great* for this purpose! It doesn't hold the curls like hairspray, mousse, or gel, but the lightweight formula encouraged my curls and did wonders for smoothing them as the day passed.

Effectiveness
This Pantene lineup gave impressive results in terms of the "weightlessness" claim. My hair has more volume than usual. My hair is less shiny and smooth when I use the Aqua Light line, but still soft.
It protects my hair from heat styling damage as well as anything else I've tried.

Final Thoughts
This product has an average price point for drugstore brands, but doesn't seem to go far. I would expect the 160 mL bottle to provide about 30 applications for my armpit-length hair (again, that's "armpit length hair", and NOT "long armpit hair" haha).
I would recommend this for smoothing curls, because it doesn't weigh them down and still moisturizes the hair. If you're looking for something that will make your hair ultra-shiny, I think there are better options out there.
One last comment: It totally stings when it sprays in your eyes. Watch out for that.

I made sure to not use the shampoo and conditioner from this collection, before I use this conditioning shake because I wanted to know if it actually works- and it does :) It's really light and not sticky so it doesn't feel like I'm adding all these weird chemicals to my hair. I blow dried my hair afterwards and it stayed nice and soft. What I really like is the fact that my hair was still shiny, soft, free-flowing, and doesn't look oily, even on the third of day of not washing my hair. Usually my hair starts to look oily the second day so I have to wash my hair everyday which I know is so bad! But now I don't have to :) The scent, again I don't really like but I find that the smell doesn't really stay on my hair so I'm fine with that. Great product!

I got this product to try through chick advisor. I tried it a few days ago after using there shampoo and conditioner and I was quite pleased with it. My hair is sometimes damaged from couloring I use alot of leave in conditioner to help, after using this and flat ironing my hair felt great!Did not feel all dried out like it usually does. Will definately be purchasing this in the future.
