New packaging, horrible product

I have been feeding my dog this product for a number of years because he has colitis and could easily digest it. He also really liked it and it seemed to agree with him. His coat was shiny, his poop was very regular and healthy looking and his energy level was great. Then PC switched the packaging back around August or September of 2020. I was concerned that that meant a change in the ingredients list but didn't pay it too much attention because there wasn't an advisory on the packaging to indicate the ingredients had changed. Not long after my dog started on this new version, he started scratching relently. His stools were still solid, but he needed to poop much more often. He was also alot hungrier. After a few weeks, still not clueing in that it could be his food (i can be slow sometimes), I brought him to the vet because he was scratching RELENTLESSLY and was starting to lose the coat on his back. His skin was flaky, his coat became very dull and he was not as energetic. I took him off this product a week ago and have been feeding him homemade food with a combination of beef, rice, pumpkin and sweet potato. He has colitis so I blended the broth and veggies and then diluted it and he seems to be doing ok. However, I wish PC had issued an advisory that the ingredients list had changed because my dog did NOT do well with this new version. I couldn't transition him off of it because he was too sick. Now having to transition him onto another food but am trying different samples and fearful there is too much change in his diet. The moral of the story? Very angry at PC for not letting the public know of this change. I think this product should be recalled and switched back to the former version which was all around a good product. Shame on them for once again, putting profit first.
