20% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I've bought 2 of these at Walmart to trim my Earnie's nails. I will not use those clippers that look like scissors!! They both did they same thing. The filing tip kept coming over when I had it on and if you turned it on another speed, it made the worst roaring sound I ever heard.
Cheap but I tried this and I don't really like the product. Not really sure if this hurts the animals it's self but doesn't really do anything over all. So I recommend you don't buy it.
What do you think, have you tried it?
As soon as I saw this on TV i knew I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Gosh I'm such a sucker. As soon as I turned it on my pug went running! After very much trial and error trying to get my dog near me with this thing in my hand, I finally managed to attack while he was asleep. Grapped a nail, finally got it in the little cutting hole and started to file away and nothing. Very little of the nail was even filed off, I think I would have had better luck with my nail file from the dollar store.
I picked up Pedi Paws with the expectation that cutting my dog's nails would now be a breeze!
Boy was I ever wrong!
My dog was terrified of Pedi Paws!
I found it very awkward and time consuming to use which only extended my dogs misery.
I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone whose dog doesn't like getting his nails clipped/filed.
I’ve seen this advertised on TV for a few years now and I’ve always wondered how well it worked. I hate trimming my dog’s nails and he hates it too. Our old dog hated it so much that I had to mussel him just to trim his nails with dog nail clippers. I was always scared I was going to cut to far down and I did a few times. He felt bad, I felt bad and he would bleed really badly. Then a few years ago I saw the Pedi Paws nail filer for sale at Wal-Mart. They wanted $19.99 for the thing, so I asked the girl if it didn’t work right, or if my dog would let me use it on him could I bring it back. When she told me I could I said I’ll take it. At first Takoda wasn’t to sure about it because it does make a sound and I imagine it feels strange to him to, but he let me do it. When you first start you have to just do one nail at a time so your dog can get use to it with out scaring him/her to death. After some time they will get use to it and the job will be so much easier on the both of you. The main reasons I love the Pedi Paws filer is that he lets me trim all of his nails down to where they needed to be now with out trying to pull away, with out having him cry because I cut to far down making him bleed and with out me feeling bad about doing it. The Pedi paws files Takoda’s nails up very nicely and all the filings go right into the catcher that’s attached to the file. All you have to do is dump the filings into the garbage when you’re done and give it a quick whip with a paper towel. The Pedi Paws File comes with two filing tips that last a long time. I’ve had this file for a good three years and still haven’t had to change the first file. They do sale replacement file’s, but I can’t say how much they are because I haven’t had to buy any as of yet. My vet asked me the last time we were in how we do his nails and when I told him he said that some dogs are fine with the clippers, others like the Pedi Paws better, so it just depends on your dog. If you’d like to give one a try on your dog just ask the store you’re buying it at if they’ll take it back. If they say no, go somewhere else that will. Trust me I find it so much easier on both of us using the Pedi Paws to trim Takoda’s nail’s then I ever did with the nail clippers!!
