Too hard to break up

When training my dog, I prefer to give him small treats that he can swallow quickly. Whole, these treats are the perfect size for him to choke. broken up, they are great, but it's really difficult to break them up without them just falling apart.

I guess the smell/flavour isn't that great because he's very food motivated but not very interested in these.
