BEWARE PEDIGREE PRODUCTS FOR GERMAN SHEPHERDS.

CAN'T GIVE A NO STAR RATING.....

I am a dedicated German shepherd owner, and was committed to always giving them the best food, so ALWAYS fed them PEDIGREE PRODUCTS.
I then had cause to take one of our GS to the vets as she was losing a lot of weight, although she was eating well. After 4 weeks of treatment, with very little improvement, the vet asked me what I was feeding her and had I changed it recently.
I took the product with me to the vets and was absolutely shocked when the vet advised me to IMMEDIATELY STOP FEEDING PEDIGREE PRODUCTS TO OUR GS. He proceeded to show me a published article on the problems and health issues that GS suffer from if fed on PEDIGREE PRODUCTS.
I was once again shocked and very annoyed by the article and disgusted to see that PEDIGREE were aware of the tests and results on their products and the problems and health issues that their products were causing GS, yet they had FAILED TO MAKE ANY CHANGES OR PUT ANY WARNINGS OF THESE ISSUES/DANGERS ON THE PRODUCTS PACKAGING.
I immediately stopped using ALL PEDIGREE PRODUCTS, and within 6-8 weeks saw drastic changes in our GS.
That was over 30 years ago, and PEDIGREE, still DO NOT HAVE ANY WARNINGS ON ANY OF THEIR PACKAGING, with regards to the issues/danger that their products can have and cause to GS.
All but 1 of my GS have lived to be over 20 years old, unfortunately my GS that bought the issues/dangers to light for me, was to ill to be saved and to save her from any further pain or suffering, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go, after just 5 short years. My kids were devastated when they came home from school and she was not there to greet them.
Please please take care in feeding GS PEDIGREE PRODUCTS, just because they are expensive does not mean that they are always the best. This can be said of ALL of the expensive dog food products. As I have found out to my detriment.
Sometimes 'basics are the best', as advised by my vet, especially for a healthy GS.
I hope ALL dog lovers have many happy years with their beloved friends, but for me, especially ALL of the GS, carers and companions.

Good puppy food

We have a 7 month old German shepherd puppy. We got her when she was 8wks old. We started her on pedigree puppy food we but the 16.5 lb bag that cost around $25 . We love it and so does she. It's a okay quality of food . Alot of vitamins for a growing puppy. I wrote to the company to see if they had any coupons because we love their brand and was going through 2 bags a month (since she turned 5 months old) .they said they didnt have any. Which was fine we still buy their brand.
