83% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I recently received a sample of this and loved it. It really kept my skin moisturized and was very lightweight.
Hope in a Jar is the best moisturizer my skin has ever tried. It keeps my face and neck moisturized all day. My makeup goes on with no effort.
I received a sample size version of this in a monthly trial box, and it is the only product I have ever received that I literally love. It smells fantastic and is very light - unlike a lot of other moisturizers. Plus, it's great to use on your face and other sensitive areas because there is no residue or greasy feeling. It's the only sample I have literally squeezed dry, and then run out to buy the actual product. I do wish it cost a bit less, but for what it did for me, it's worth it.
EDIT - After using this a few times, I ended up having an allergic reaction! I passed it on to my sister, who used it until the cream and oil separated (I think she kept it for a wee bit too long). I'll still say my experience was relatively positive, I just wish I had known I'd end up looking like a chipmunk because of it.
OK, I love Philosophy, but I don't care for this product. I tried this product as part of a kit, and this was the only part I didn't love. I tried using it at night and during the day and it just did nothing for me. I couldn't use it during the day because it was too greasy for my makeup and I had to stop using it. Also, it seemed to cause more breakouts if I used it at night. Anyway, it might work for others but was too greasy for me. Plus I noticed after a while that the contents seemed to seperate. Not sure if that's supposed to happen, but it didn't look too good! The nice thing about Philosophy products is that they usually have trial kits or small samples that you can try, so you don't spend $50 on something you hate!
I have sensivite skin, and have never put this product down since I first bought it. The cream is light, and yet refreshing. It really soothes my skin upon application, feels natural, and doesn't cause my skin to breakout. I love the scent, which I find light and airy. In the winter months, I apply up to 3 times a day to keep hydrated as the cream is not terribly rich, but I prefer that as the thick creams tend to cause me to breakout.
I did not have a good experience with this cream. It is strong smelling, but not offensive. It is way too thick and rich to be used as a daily moisturizer and would be better suited for a night cream. It also lacks SPF that I look for in my daily moisturizers. The biggest issue I had was that it caused my skin to sting and I am not prone to sensitive skin. I had to discontinue use as it caused redness and stinging.
Okay, first things first -- unlike what one reviewer said, Hope in a Jar DOES NOT smell like rotten fish. It does have a bit of a medicinal smell. This product works so fantastic, that even if it did smell like fish, I would still use it! It's my favourite beauty product, and if I could only choose one product that I could use on my face everyday, this would be it. The slight medicinal smell that it does have, does not linger on the skin. This moisturizer is creamy, but it is absorbed so well into my skin and it does not feel greasy or heavy at all. It makes my skin feel fantastic, and since I started using it I receive comments on how great my skin looks all the time.
I loved this moisturizer, but I couldn't get past the smell of dead rotten fish. I used the sample I got but I will never buy because of the smell. Aside from the smell I wanted to like it because it made my skin feel smooth and soft without being too oily. I have combination skin, and even my usual oily spots weren't oily, but my dry spots were hydrated. The product is a litte pricey but I think it's well worthit, if you can get past the smell.
I typically have really dry skin and this moisturizer works great for me. It absorbs quickly so my face doesn't feel sticky and the cream doesn't feel heavy on my face. A little goes a long way.
I had high hopes for this product, and the brand packaging is quite intriguing. Unfortunately, I found it to not only smell bad, but it was too thick for my combination skin. For a product that goes on your face, I couldn't get over the fact that it smelled so terrible! My best friend swears by this product and uses it every day. Only recommended if you have very dry skin! For my full review: http://jealousofmyskin.com/philosophy-hope-in-a-jar/
