Probably the best cleanser I've ever used. So effective at removing dirt and makeup and best of all feels so amazing and clean once you dry your face!

This is a little on the pricey side, but I figure that my skin is worth it! My skin is very sensitive and will break out if I use products that it is not happy with. This product doesn't dry out or irritate my skin but cleans beautifully especially when used with my clarisonic. The milky texture and soft lather is perfect for for use with my Mia and the giant bottle I purchased from Sephora means that the value is so much better than purchasing individual small bottles.

Pros:gentle. simple. pleasant scent. soft skin.


Cons:costs more than drugstore brands, but worth it.


The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this - and the 32oz bottle w/pump from QVC.



I've become a bit obsessed with Philosophy products. I'm sure it has to do with the cute, simple packaging and the words of wisdom on the bottles, but they all so far have worked for me and I haven't been let down. My skin is combination and prone to breakouts.

Purity made Simple was the first Philosophy product I tried. It was highly recommended by my mother who suffers from Psoriasis and has changed all of her beauty products to those that are simpler, have less chemicals, etc. This cleanser is one that she found on QVC and she's had great luck with it. I was so convinced that it would work for me that I immediately purchased the 32oz bottle with pump from QVC - about $40.

Using Purity Made Simple
Like many others here, I was very excited to first use this product. The 32oz bottle with pump is awesome - just one pump should do the job - and extremely convenient for use in the shower. The consistency of this cleanser is similar to that of PhisoDerm - slightly runny and not terribly thick. There are no exfoliants and there is a gentle, pleasant scent. When your skin is prone to breakouts or if you have any acne at the moment, grainy exfoliants are necessarily the best thing - you want something that will cleanse gently and that's what this product is.

I wet my face, use one pump, and then rub my hands together and gently apply the cleanser in circles around my cheeks/chin/neck/forehead areas, even over my eyes. Then I rinse. It's very gentle and rinses away easily. Then, my skin feels extraordinarily soft! No fireworks, no red skin from all the rubbing of exfoliants, no tight feeling, just clean, soft skin. The only makeup I tend to use is a tinted moisturizer, so if you use a heavy foundation and heavy eye makeup, you may need to use more or wash twice but I find that one pump is perfect for me.

In the mornings, I follow this with Philosophy's Hope in a Jar moisturizer and my tinted moisturizer...at night, I usually use nothing else unless I'm breaking out, I use Philosophy's On a Clear Day H202 peroxide cream on areas where I've broken out so they dry out before I wake up.

I got a sample of this stuff and I love it! I use it with my Clarisonic Mia and it makes my face so soft! I am sad because I can not buy it anywhere near me. The price is kind of high but if I were able to buy it near me I would. I would love to try more of the philosophy line

I was extremely disappointed with this cleanser. Like others have said, it left my skin very dry and it did a terrible job of removing my face makeup, and FORGET it removing your mascara. I am not a fan of the smell, and after using it for a week, it broke me out terribly.

I am sure that it's a great cleanser for some, but I don't get the hype AT ALL. I now use it to clean my makeup brushes since it's too harsh for my skin.

Purity Made Simple is pretty amazing! It's one of the most gentle cleansers I've tried, while still being super thorough at removing makeup.
It doesn't lather up or foam too much while cleansing, just enough that I feel it's really doing its job. My skin can get oily AND dry, and I feel like Purity cleanses everything away while nourishing the dryness and never irritating my skin.
I use this cleanser in the morning sometimes, or just whenever I want something I know isn't going to be harsh, but will still leave my skin clean and glowing. I've brought it with me camping, and it didn't bother my slight sunburn, plus it kept my skin clear and fresh!
This doesn't break me out or make my skin feel more oily than usual, and it really combats dryness and redness.
I am really glad I decided to try this product finally! It cleanses my skin so gently and helps it look more healthy and radiant. The price is very good considering how well the product works and that only a quarter-sized drop is needed for your face.

May be the least enjoyable cleaner I've tried. The scent is barely there, a minimal lemon fragrance. It cleans off most makeup but I still have to use remover for lashes/eyeliner. I feel like it's a boring product and prefer cleansers with yummy smells/exfoliating floaties/cute packaging. Also with this it's mandatory to apply a moisturizer afterwards or you'll dry out. Not worth the money... they could put this liquid in a hotel room (cheap complimentary products) and I wouldn't know the difference.

This cleanser left my face really dry. It might be better for someone with oilier skin.

This does what it says it melts away your makeup. My face always feels clean and makeup free after using it.
Only con is the price.

This is my go-to cleanser! My favourite thing about it is that it removes makeup completely- makes my night routine so much easier. It is gentle on sensitive skin, and has a mild, nice smell. It is on the pricier side, but you only have to use a tiny amount each time. Love this product, have no need to ever use another cleanser!
