A gentle product
I received a small individual sample size of this product to try in exchange for my honest return. Although I cannot comment on the long-term efficacy, The product itself was gentle on the skin and non-irritating. It had no immediate results however that I can comment on. It would require a longer trial.
Not sure if the formula has changed
Years ago, I loved this product. It gently cleansed my sensitive combination skin and I really enjoyed that it was creamy but easy to rinse off. I recently repurchased a large sized bottle and I might be getting an allergic reaction. Would not repurchase for myself on this basis, but it might just be incompatible with my skin.
Ehhh I wouldn't go out of the way for this product
I tried Philosophies purity cleanser as a sample (can't remember if it was Playbox or IPSY?) anyways, i liked the consistency and how mild it was on the skin. I have very sensitive skin and was able to continue using it. It doesn't have much scent. I also didn't notice a huge difference in my skin after using it for about a month.
I have oily and acne prone skin so I figured this cleanser would be good for me, it made me breakout so bad!! It smells nice, has a good lather and makes your skin feel great right after but a day or 2 later I was crazy broken out. I tried it for a few weeks too giving it the benefit of the doubt but I'm not pleased with it :(
Although Philosophy's Purity One Step Cleanser has a ph of 5.5, I still think the price for this product is too high for what it actually does. I only got mine from last year's Sephora Black Friday deal but honestly, it does not live up to the hype that the Internet brags about. Yes it is gentle on the skin but it does not really remove makeup as effective as you double cleanse with an oil cleanser and another cleanser of your choice. I had trouble finishing my bottle because I only use it when I am extremely tired and I need to remove sunscreen out of my face (and not makeup). I would really consider another cleanser if you are on the fence of buying this item.
This is a tough one for me to review. I wanted to love the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser, but I just don't. I don't hate it, I don't even dislike it. But this cleanser is just "OK" in my opinion. It is pretty expensive, unless you can grab it on a Black Friday or Boxing Day special. I just find that while it doesn't do anything to irritate my skin or cause me to break out, it just doesn't do anything great for my skin either. I am not going to lie, I keep the smallest size bottle on hand for travel. It's great a size for travelling, and I know the cleanser is reliable, just not spectacular. I would recommend it because it is a decent cleanser, I am just not wowed by it.
i dont know..i tried liking this cleanser and didn't like it. i used it back to back for years and tried giving it the benefit of the doubt and i felt my makeup was still on my skin after washing. its so pricy for the amount you get too....eh
I picked this up when I purchased a certain popular sonic face cleansing tool. I used the cleanser and tool together, after cleansing I felt a thick residue on my skin even after thorough rinsing. Then I started experiencing tons of deep breakouts. I immediately stopped both. When things started to improve I used the cleanser on its own, the breakouts got worse again. So I tucked it at the back of my medicine cabinet and forgot about it. Recently my skin has been great, minimal monthly breakouts. I decided to give this another shot when I ran out of my newer cleanser...big mistake! More giant deep breakouts appeared along my jaw... I've seen so many people who love this product, unfortunately I am not one of them. What a waste of product and money.
I cannot believe I paid $52 cdn for this!! My Sephora haul was huge that day... I didn't realize the price until I read some other reviews. Wow. That is a lot of product going to waste. But I'm glad it's working so well for others!!
It's remove well the make up but it's a little oily to me and I think this is why my skin haven't react well to this, it give me pimples, my skin realy don't like it
I don't get what the hype is about this cleanser. It is raved about so much on YouTube and I just don't get it. It was more than $30 for a bottle at my local Sephora, and it just seemed like a simple cleanser I could have gotten for under $10 at the drugstore. It got my makeup off fine, but I just don't see anything special that would make me pay $30+ for it. Meh.
