Durable Bento Box
I have had the planet box rover for 3 years now. It is stainless steel, lightweight, and durable. Easy to use for my daughter since she was 6. Easy to clean and just an overall great Bento box
Awesome lunch box
I have this lunch box for each of my kids ages 8 and 5. I love how it's stainless steel so no yucky plastic. I love all the compartments and the kids find it fun to eat their school lunches from them. The magnets add a fun theme as well
eco-friendly, durable, and convenient!
I have always used containers to pack my kids lunches to minimize waste. Until about a year ago, that meant Tupperware and other similar options. I really love that Planet Box is made of metal though. To keep your Tupper longer, you really should handwash because the harsh dishwasher detergents and high heat of dishwashers can break down plastics and I hate the thought of getting any contaminants in my food.
While Tupperware maintains a special place in my heart, lunch prep for school now belongs solely to Planet Box. No more concerns about the heat of the dishwasher, and because it's an all-in-one solution (there are compartments within the box) you don't have to have multiple containers rattling around in the lunch sack. That was my other issue. In the mornings I either was missing the lids or the bottoms of the Tupperware containers, but this obviously sidesteps that whole issue.
The design is also completely style-neutral so it works for boys, girls, moms, and dads. The only downside is that Planet Boxes are not cheap BUT once you buy a couple of Tupperware pieces, that's not exactly cheap either. A bit of a high entry point for budget-conscious families, but if grandma is eager to give the kiddos a back-to-school gift, this might be a cool suggestion!
My kids love this lunch system. Both older boys are snackers and the Planet Box Rover system has several dividers that allow you to pick a variety of food for them. It's expensive, but we've had them for almost 3 years and they are still like new.
The price of this system is pretty high, but it has proven to be worth it. We use it with our 7 year old, for her school lunches and we've been really happy with it. We purchased the box, the carrier, the freeze pack and a pack of magnets for the outside and it was a little over $100. Seems crazy, but we haven't had to purchase zip bags or Tupperware containers for her litterless lunch. Only downside is that it is difficult to pack any extras that don't fit in the actual box. No pudding cups or yogurt drinks, but that's about it. We would purchase it again for sure. I love that it is dishwasher safe, and that its stainless steel.
