Cheap and cheap looking - but they do the job of steering my raft and not breaking when used in somewhat less than gentle conditions. They are buoyant, lightweight, and highly visible, so they would be easy to spot if dropped in the water. They detach into four pieces for easy transporting or to attach them to the raft itself. The paddle is flexible, so it does not easily break. As long as they are not being aggressively used, they will last.
