I've been playing pokemon since Red & Blue came out, and I have to say the games have come a long way while still remaining true to the core elements. Black and White were great, but I was a little reluctant to purchase Black 2 and White 2. I thought the plot would be too similar to Black and White for me to enjoy, but they definitely were not. The gameplay was extremely fun and the new pokemon - as usual - were great. I definitely recommend this to anyone who thinks they'd like to get into pokemon, as well as those who've grown up with it like I have.
