Unlike medicated creams, the healing patch protects my cold soar from all elements that come into contact with my lips on a daily basis. I don't feel like I need to reapply a cream every time I eat, drink, or everytime my lips touch it. It's protected, being medicated, and partially covered. You CAN see the patch, but I choose that over yellow bubble clusters or crusty puss lips any day.
I am one of the few lucky old sore sufferers in a sense that I get maybe 1-2 a year and its small and in the same place. It's when I'm sick and decide to not put chap stick on.. Anyways I have literally tried everything in the market.. Even though it's hardly there, it's still annoying and I work in an environment with lots of people and dust so there is lots of potential to make it worse. I found with the polysporin cold sore healing patch, my cold sores lasted not even half of the time then with the other stuff on the markets. It also feels protected and I don't have to worry about touching and spreading. If you have a big event, the patch allows you to apply make up without worrying about making it worse. I used to always have these on hand but with the expensive prices and how little my cold sores were, I found that it was too expensive to keep buying. So it's an occasional thing for me, but they do work great!!
Great Product, but a little pricey. You get the quantity for the price, but smaller packs would be nice. I find that it works well to reduce irritation and itching. The patch also gives you the freedom to apply lipstick or gloss without clumping around your cold core. I find that it also reduces the visibility of it.
Overall, I would recommend the cold sore healing patch. Two addition cons would be they are a little large, I cut mine in half and they only last about 3-4 hours if you are not eating or drinking.
Good - easy to apply, didn't really have a medical scent. Quick healing. Didn't burn when I applied it to a cut.
Gave this to my nephew. He used it and was very thankful that I bought it for him
I've been a sufferer of coldsores for years. These patches do work. If my coldsore is tiny , I cut the patch in half , that way they last longer as they are kinda pricey. Also, when I take a the patch off, it's important to let your sore air out. Once it was sdried after removing said patch, I apply abreva, and let that sit for an hour before I apply a new patch. Along with taking l-lysine and Vit. C, my coldsores last about a week. Another tip, DO NOT Pick at or touch your sore , def. disrupts the healing process
