An excellent product for preserving with less sugar.
I have been preserving for years and have always disliked the amount of sugar needed to set jams and jellies. I finally found some Pomona's Universal Pectin and am so impressed with it. At first glance, it might seem more expensive but you need very little per batch and you're able to make any size batch you want. In fact, I made cranberry raspberry jelly using just 1 cup of juice. If you're used to using regular sugar pectin, this is a little different but gives perfect results. Regular jam generally uses more sugar than fruit in order to jell - Pomona's uses about half the amount of sugar to fruit. I love that my preserves finally taste like FRUIT instead of sugar. I wish I had sought this stuff out earlier.
