Why the need for chocolate?

Very much like a granola bar. Not a quality low carb high protein protein bar. Would not buy. Good for a snack but not sure it would be a good supplement.

I was sent 2 of the Powerbar Plant Protein Almond, Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate by Chick Advisor in exchange for my honest review.

This flavour just didn't cut it for me. It seemed way too salty and not enough chocolate pieces. As with the other flavours of this bar I reviewed, it was very hard to chew to the point that it hurt my teeth.

I definitely won't be purchasing these bars in future unless they are reformulated to be chewier.

Good quality ingredients

Looking at the label, you'll find good quality ingredients and protein. Saying that, I wasn't a fan of the taste. The only reason I pick a bar over a powder is because it's more of a treat to me. I wouldn't eat this again.

Not a fan!

#gotitfree @ChickAdvisors Review Club & thank goodness I didn't spend my own money on this item! I couldn't even finish a bar for the strong salt taste - gag.. I even got my 15 year old to taste it and his first words where - "SALT?! Ugh". Such a waste of lovely dark chocolate and almonds.

Not my favourite flavour

I wanted to love this flavour but out of the three I tried this was my least favourite. I found the protein powder-y taste overpowering. I did like the texture though - there was some crispy pieces in there that were enjoyable. Overall, I'd definitely go for one of the other two flavours next time.

Didn't enjoy the taste

I wasn't super fan of the taste. It was too salty. The energy part seemed to be minimal. Overall I did not like this bar flavor. It was a good portion. I usually eat protein bars for breakfast and it seemed to last the same and a cliff bar.

Too Tasty

The combination of sea salt and chocolate is always amazing. Adding in almonds is another level. Having this put into a protein bar that is tasty and doesn't just taste like protein is a fresh thing for me. This sounds weird, but it had such a great mouth texture to me - a lot of protein bars are just too dense, but this bar was just so tasty and awesome. I'd have this as dessert because it is just so good!

The almond, sea salt and dark chocolate plant protein powerbar was pretty average tasting. My first thought was:"I tasted this one before". I found the texture to be quite hard to bite into and I would much prefer a chewier version with less sugar.

Tastes alright, but fake chocolate

I received some Power Bar plant protein bars to try courtesy of ChickAdvisor. The almond sea salt and dark chocolate flavour tasted ok, a bit too sweet. It’s almost more of a candy bar than a protein rich snack. There was a decent serving of almonds in each bar. I didn’t detect any sea salt. I am not a fan of “chocolatey” coating. Because of that , I don’t think I would buy these again.

Too sweet

I recently had the opportunity to try this free through the product review club. This bar is just too sweet. I like the combination of nuts and seeds. but the sugar overpowers the flavour. The description gives me the impression that these are a bit of a healthier choice. It is misleading.
It also leaves a bit of a strange aftertaste in my mouth.
