Très bon début de barre, mais des améliorations à faire

J'ai reçu ce produit gratuit de Chick Advisor afin de l'essayer. C'est une bonne barre de protéines et c'est assez surprenant. Il y a assez de protéines pour durer un moment. Cependant, c'est vraiment trop de sucre pour moi. C'est un bel essai mais il faudrait diminuer les 10 grammes de sucre.

High Protein chocolate bar

I feel like this is heavily processed, high in sugar and calories. The taste was okay but even with all the qualifications I'm not sure this is a healthy food.

nice almond taste

I liked the almonds and chocolate combo in this bar however I found the bar to be hard on my jaw. After I finished eating the bar my jaws actually ached and I had an aftertaste in my mouth that took a while to get rid of #gotitfree

Vraiment trop salé et sucré pour moi

C’est barre de collation est définitivement trop salée pour moi.Je l’ai mangé avec un cola pour aténué goût de sel.Le prix est bien mais je ne l’acheterai pas.Avec moins de sucres et de sels,je crois que je l’acheterais car les valeurs nutrives sont bien malgré que le gras saturé quelque peu élevé.Merci pour le #cadeau .

very hard and hurt my gums

I enjoy eating these protein bars daily as I have very little appetite due to medications. Overall they are not bad, however I've had better. These ones seem to be very hard on the inside of my mouth.

Ok taste, but I didn’t like the nutritional content

I wouldn’t buy this product. The taste was ok, but it was a bit too salty for my liking. The other negatives included a high fat content at 13 grams, and 190 milligrams of sodium, 10 grams of sugar. As a comparison, Nature Valley has a fat content of 2.5 grams, and a sodium content of 70 milligrams, and sugar content of 6 grams, but you get less protein at 2.5 grams. Although Nature Valley is a smaller bar at 32 grams, Power Bar has a higher percentage of the undesirables. Power Bar also packs a caloric punch at 230 calories for a 50 gram bar.

On the plus side, the texture of Power Bar was nice, and it was filling. Another plus was the protein content, which was 10 grams. All things considered, however, I wouldn’t buy this product as a regular snack.

The sweet that knocked me out

I have had other Powerbars before but was excited to try this one. I liked the claim of all natural ingredients, even though there was sort of a unpleasantly fake tasting "caramel" under tone. Then it hit me....a huge wave of sweet that I found intolerable. Too much for me to bear, and after one small bite I found myself looking for something to counterbalance it.

For a mere 10g of protein, I would be better off just taking a spoonful of peanut butter or a handful of trail mix.

My Household Weren't Impressed

I #gotitfree through the product review club. I was initially happy to see 4 bars in the package, which meant that my partner and I each could try both flavours. He works out regularly and I am a former personal trainer, so we are both quite conscious of what we eat.

We agreed that the flavour was alright. It wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't bad either. A little too sweet. If you're used to commercial granola bars, these would probably be a good choice for you. I make my own high protein granola and we prefer the more natural approach.

Within about 10 minutes of eating the cashew bar, I ended up with a bad stomach ache that lasted for a few hours. It was enough to wake me up from sleep. I think it's the added fibre (from an extract) that was the issue. I'm a vegetarian and consume a high fibre diet already, so it may have just been too much for the day.

10g of protien is alright, especially for a plant based bar. However, there did seem to be a lot of processed ingredients, a lot of fat (probably due to the nuts), a lot of sugars (10g) and a fair bit of sodium (190mg).

We won't be buying these. It would have been nice to have something that is easy to throw in a backpack when heading out for the day, but for average nutrition and okay taste, I think we can do better.
