I’d recommend this one!

I was chosen to review the cashew, salted Carmel and dark chocolate bar from PowerBar plant protein. Very pleased with the taste. I like the outer layer of chocolate. I appreciate the non GMO status. Size was good too.

I recieved this product as a sample through Chick Advisor and loved it! I'm picky when it comes to protein and granola bars etc. I've had so many before that I often find bland or just unappealing. This one was a pleasant surprise. I brought it along with me for a quick boost when I didn't have time to eat a meal before my daughter's soccer game. It was so flavourful and soft and filing and satisfied my chocolate cravings. Gave me just the boost I needed. Has healthy ingredients that I don't feel bad for eating. Would definitely recommend.

Yum I would buy this again

I wasn't expecting much but the salted caramel is what hits me. Reminds me of another bar that with similar flavor and similar taste. I would recommend to a friend.

Tasty Caramel Protein

I was fortunate enough to receive 2 of each flavour of PowerBar Plant Protein Bars for free from PowerBar and Chick Advisor. I will not receive financial compensation for my review.

Also of note, the packaging for the bars I received had a slightly different flavour description, "Cashew, Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Flavoured".

Each bar has: 230 cal., 12g Fat, 24g Carbohydrates, 10g Protein, 7g Fibre, 190mg Sodium, 4% Daily Value of Calcium and 15% Daily Value of Iron.

*Caramel is not listed in the ingredients.

This bar has a strong caramel flavour with a hint of chocolate. Unlike many protein bars, this one does not have that chalky, protein powder taste. It feels like I'm eating something healthy and hunger-satisfying. The consistency is medium soft, like a cross between a seed/nut bar and a granola bar. I really like the crunchy texture. The pea and rice protein crisps are fairly bland though occasionally they have a slight bitter taste.

These bars would be great for someone who needs a convenient, portable, plant-based and/or soy-free protein source. Since the second ingredient is inulin, they might also be useful for someone who needs to avoid spikes in their blood glucose level.

Based on flavour alone, I would pick one of the Plant Protein bar flavours over any other protein bar because they are delicious and don't taste like protein powder. For me personally though, these bars are not a good value at $2-$3 CAD for 10g of protein (At the time of this review, PowerBar Plant Protein bars are no longer listed on the Canadian Costco website. Without costco.ca, the price range from other online retailers is $2-$3 CAD). I am neither vegan nor vegetarian so for the price of one Plant Protein bar I could buy; a boneless, skinless chicken breast, multiple servings of tofu, a can of tuna or one of the other varieties of PowerBar protein bars that have 20 g of protein.

Overall, I'd recommend this bar to someone who needs convenient, plant-based protein or to someone who can't stand the taste of traditional protein bars, for everyone else I think there are better options out there.

Tastes like chocolate rice crispies, but it's a power bar!

I was selected by chick advisor to try this Power Bar and have to say I'm impressed. I love this flavour! It's delicious, I cannot believe it's a protein bar... I'd happily choose this over any regular chocolate bar. I will admit I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so for anyone who wants a true day chocolate experience, I would say this is a bit more on the sweet side. However, if you love chocolate rice crispies, this is your new much healthier treat!

I've always enjoyed protein bars as a post work out or even pick me up snack, but they are typically loaded with artificial sweeteners which result in a weird after taste. Problem solved! These Power Bars are plant based and made with real ingredients. They use nuts and legumes to give out protein and they really are yummy. I don't think I can go back to a regular protein bar after trying these!

My new go to for hanger!

I was given POWERBAR PLANT PROTEIN CASHEW, SALTED CARAMEL AND DARK CHOCOLATE free in exchange for an honest review. Super delicious! I can't wait to pick up more of these. The cashew and salted caramel combination worked perfectly together. I enjoyed the texture as well. I've been struggling with sudden hanger issues and this bar really helps steady me.

This product was fantastic. The bar has a great crunch and texture to it. Very healthy being plant based and has good flavor. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Great Snack

I really liked this bar. the mix of salty and sweet was fantastic. Especially the salted caramel with cashew. It's great high protein, low sugar snack. Delicious and will buy again.

Nuts for this

I received power bar plant protein cashew salted caramel and dark chocolate compliments of chick advisor for testing purposes. These were delicious. Filled with yummy nuts and perfect for a snack or breakfast on the go.
