The Powerbar Plant Protein Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter was a favorite in our household. The kids really liked the peanut butter flavor combined with the dark chocolate. I would probably buy this product.

I love protein bars and was stoked to try these. they were alright, but i found them to be a little grainy. I would still buy them again. they are packed with some good nutrients and aside from the grainy-ness the taste and flavours were delicious.

Thank you Chick Advisor for these Powerbar Protein Bars! This was my favourite out of the flavours that were sent. Chocolate and Peanut Butter combination work so well together as always. Cant wait to buy these on my next shopping trip.

Unpleasant aftertaste

I generally enjoy the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, and have enjoyed the other flavors of Powerbar Plant Protein bars. However, I found this one to have an unpleasant, almost "dusty" aftertaste. I shared one of these bars with a friend who found it similarly unpleasant.

The best breakfast ever!

Chick Advisor club - thank you! This has to be the most delicious protein bar ever! It tastes so good, you wouldn't even think it's healthy. It fills you up and gives just the right amount of protein - perfect breakfast to-go.

Peanut butter chocolatey goodness.

I had the opportunity to sample this product along with two other flavours courtesy of Chick Advisor. I have been very impressed with the flavors though I admit this one does taste a bit more average than the other two. Has a bit more of the well known "protein bar after taste". I do still really like it. The peanut butter is more subtle than compared.to some other brands but is a.nice amount of flavour. Not over powering. Love the healthy protein and nutritional ingredients. Like that they come in a few different flavours for some variety. Great to throw in your bag on the go. Would recommend.

Classic combo I would buy again

Peanut butter and chocolate has become a great classic combo. No doubt it is not nutritional but it tasted pretty good. I would recommend to someone for a guilty pleasure.

Crunchy Peanut Butter Protein

I was fortunate enough to receive 2 of each flavour of PowerBar Plant Protein Bars for free from PowerBar and Chick Advisor. I will not receive financial compensation for my review.

Also of note, the packaging for the bars I received had a slightly different flavour description, "Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate Flavoured".

Each bar has: 230 cal., 14g Fat, 22g Carbohydrates, 10g Protein, 7g Fibre, 150mg Sodium*, 4% Daily Value of Calcium and 10% Daily Value of Iron.

*40mg less sodium than the other two flavours of PowerBar Plant Protein Bars.

This is by far my favorite flavour of the PowerBar Plant Protein Bars. It tastes like sweetened, crunchy peanut butter and the flavour is so strong that I can't taste the rice and pea protein crisps at all! Unlike many protein bars, this one does not have that chalky, protein powder taste. It feels like I'm eating something healthy and hunger-satisfying. The consistency is medium soft, like a cross between a seed/nut bar and a granola bar; I really like the crunchy texture.

These bars would be great for someone who needs a convenient, portable, plant-based and/or soy-free protein source. Since the second ingredient is inulin, they might also be useful for someone who needs to avoid spikes in their blood glucose level.

Based on flavour alone, I would pick one of the Plant Protein bar flavours over any other protein bar because they are delicious and don't taste like protein powder. For me personally though, these bars are not a good value at $2-$3 CAD for 10g of protein (At the time of this review, PowerBar Plant Protein bars are no longer listed on the Canadian Costco website. Without costco.ca, the price range from other online retailers is $2-$3 CAD). I am neither vegan nor vegetarian so for the price of one Plant Protein bar I could buy; a boneless, skinless chicken breast, multiple servings of tofu, a can of tuna or one of the other varieties of PowerBar protein bars that have 20 g of protein.

Overall, I'd recommend this bar to someone who needs convenient, plant-based protein or to someone who can't stand the taste of traditional protein bars, for everyone else I think there are better options out there.

Good taste

I was given POWERBAR PLANT PROTEIN DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER free in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this bar. I have trouble eating breakfast early but have to be out the door and on the way. This is a great, quick, portable way to start my mornings out right and keeps the hanger at bay. I will purchase again.
